A great cast, amazing soundtrack, and nice visuals are enough to forget about the somewhat middling combat loop and a few bugs.

The strongest part of this game is the story and voice acting. The city is a recreation of several US cities during the Great Depression and serves the story well with interesting scenery.

The gameplay formula however, mostly stays the same as you just shoot the enemies. There is one racing mission which, on classic difficulty, is a bit hard to beat because the driving model can sometimes be a bit frustrating. The game is buggy in regards to alt-tabbing, because if you do it vehicle sounds are missing and cutscenes freeze. Otherwise, the visuals and performance are great.

Despite minor annoyances I would recommend this game to anyone wanting to play as mafia mobster in the 1930s.

My first Souls game I actually completed.

The whole game consists of picturesque environments and interesting enemy designs ranging from the beautiful to horrifying. The open world is massively detailed, which sometimes poses a problem because you forgot where the next quest is. And because of its vastness it wants you to explore. During my playthrough I probably missed half of what this game still has to offer.

The difficulty, in regards to previous From Soft titles, can be adjusted how you want. You can fight a boss under- or overleveled and some can be really frustrating but in the end it pays off immensely. The feeling of finally beating a difficult boss is exhilarating.

The performance can sometimes vary between locked 60fps and massive stutters or even outright crashes. Overall however, the game is stable especially during crucial boss fights.

You can play it as a boss rush game and make it the hardest From Soft game, or reap the benefits of exploring and doing side quests to make it much easier.

By combining first-person shooter and tactical elements, Hell Let Loose creates a unique WW2 experience. Communication within a squad and between squad leaders is vital to the path to victory. Resource nodes are needed to supply the frontlines. But even smaller battles behind enemy lines can affect the larger battle. This game is best played with a squad that communicates.

This is the game to play to relax and let your mind wander. The gameplay and puzzles are fairly simple, however, that does not make for a bad experience but rather emphasizes the simplistic approach of the game. The narrative is not told through dialogue lines or written notes, but through the beautifully-crafted environment and art style. The fixed camera pans frequently to show environment as the level gets larger. During my playthrough, I experienced but one minor bug that resolved itself after respawning.

This is a great game with a three-hour story. The gameplay is somewhat lacking but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. The characters are molded to be terrifying and disgusting, the level design establishes a harrowing and tense environment that alternates in pacing beautifully, and the soundtrack reinforces all previous ideas.

This game is a lot of fun but it has some quirks.

The main story is just okay. The antagonists' influencer-like attitude is somewhat annoying but their motives are plain bland. Just when the story gains momentum, it ends. The side missions, however, are way more enjoyable. Even if the jokes sometimes fall flat, they are generally fun.

The game mechanics with different gun concepts make this a great looter-shooter. Additionally, the movement has vastly improved from its predecessor that going back feels downright unpleasant. The sliding and vaulting are satisfyingly implemented. There are a number of quality-of-life improvements over previous installments, such as hijacking cars and automatic loot pickup, that make Borderlands 3 not revolutionary but evolutionary.

Despite its flaws Borderlands 3 is still a great addition to the looter-shooter genre by refining the formula of Gearbox's previous games.
