I am a long time fan of the second part of LBA. I only played the second game when I was very young, but I fell in love. Now I play the first part remastered and I love it. I know this game is not well known, and I am afraid it will not sell too many copies, but good lord do I hope with all my being that the second game will still be remastered to have the full experience :D

I have only played one skirmish game, but I can already tell... This Game is waaaay too underrated. What a wonderful little RTS gem. I dunno how it works in Multiplayer, because of the supply system and the very intense micro, so mostly it's a Singleplayer only game. But oh boy is it fun. The game has a nice flow with the pause button. Feels like coming up with a strategy, executing it and see what happens. This loop has something very satisfying going on. The "Oh S**t" moment when something bad is showing up on the frontline, the terror when a shot barely misses in a crucial moment, but also this beautiful feeling when the Rocket/Tank shell finally hits and rips it's target to shreds. Damn well done game thus far.

PLAY THIS GAME. BUT BE WARNED.

You will have a hard time after this to enjoy any exploration game, because it's just so damn well done. The less you know about this game, the better. The most important thing is, take your time and don't get frustrated. This game is so story rich, so creative and holds so much treasure, that nearly all games the modern industry puts out, pale in comparison by A LOT.

This game brought me to tears because it's just so good. I cannot describe the emotions I felt when slowly putting it all together and finishing the game. The things this game makes you feel are incredible.

The game simply is a must buy, especially if you love exploration games, but again be warned, it will be hard to enjoy other exploration games after this, because you will see how some simple mechanics can lead to such greatness. When talking about it, it brings mixed feelings, because I don't want to downplay other dev teams, but honestly, there is so many games that could be so much better if there was more creativity behind it, IF THERE WAS MORE SOUL BEHIND IT.

This game here is something of it's own. Because to the contrary of many other games, this one actually has a soul, and that is what makes it so damn good. There is so much emotion and heart put into this. I would trade the whole EA, Ubisoft Industry for just one or two more games like this, because it's just so damn good.

What a wonderful game.

If you don't want to spend hours and hours to learn every aspect of a nearly dead game with weird controls at best, don't bother.

I wanna love this game, but it's simply so annoying at times. I just did a mission with tons of loot, which I nearly lost most of it because the road I was headed when ♥♥♥♥ hit the fan was kinda the wrong direction and it was a mission, where I could not choose my exit point. It was 2 hours worth of loot nearly wiped because of the stupid mission wanting me to exit at a point where I could not even get offroad due to the map. That was just stupid and frustrating to the point where I alt f4ed and found out I can redo the last section with my loot.

This game would work far better without so much bs that's thrown at you. Most of the time it's manageable I guess, but it kinda gets frustrating too quickly. I lost a good hour because of this stupid final part of the mission, and it just feels wasted. And I do hate when a game does waste my time. Granted, there is an option for keeping the stuff even when dying, but I would have needed to redo 3 sections for the mission, that's 2+ hrs again.

It would not be as frustrating if some aspects would have been handled a bit differently. At first I thought I would love this game, but the deeper I go, the more frustrating it kinda gets. This game could be a real vibe if it toned down the stress factor. I mean I get it, it needs some tension, but the way it's executed is just frustrating.

I expected this to be a bit more chill and cozy with a bit of mystery and creepiness, but as I said, it's just kinda frustrating.
Most of the reviews are positive, so people like it a lot, and I get why. So maybe I am a bit of an odd ball.
But the relaxing, creepy experience I expected is certainly not what I got sadly.

Oh Boy, where do I start. I did not like the DLC as much as i thought I would, by a lot.

First things first. When I initially started my playthrough, I was excited and hyped for a new experience. The more I explored, and the more I progressed, however, this excitement faded to a feeling of it all being just rushed content. I was expecting a similar experience like the base game, just with new, a little harder, bosses. At first this was exactly what I found, but the more I progressed, the more was I thinking, this feels different, and not in a good way.

The exploration is somewhat meh honestly. I did greatly enjoy this in the base game, even with no Idea where to go, you kinda always found the right path. The Map in the DLC, however, feels like it's just all over the place. First off, there is not actually that much to explore. Don't get me wrong, there are dungeons and side bosses to explore, but it's all so spread thin on a map that's just too big for it's own good. It's also confusing af. The amount of time I ran along a cliff or a wall to find a way up or down to a certain area, only to get my hopes up. when I found a dungeon, to think it could lead me to another area, just to be disappointed in the end. Now I get it, this is a little bit of a personal gripe with the design, and I could have been unlucky. But riding through mostly empty fields up and down in search for a path to a new area or even dungeons is exhausting. I cannot exactly pinpoint what it is, but it's just not fun. The exploration part in the base game, felt much more fluid and intuitive, than it did here. If it was not for lack of better knowledge, I would almost say they did that to up the playtime, at least that's what it felt like most of the time.

The Bosses.. well I don't know honestly. It feels like a lot in this DLC was made just to be hard, without the fun stuff. There is some boss attacks with questionable hitboxes, some with AoE + Visual spam, and some are just not fun to fight. Of course I expected it to be hard, but also fair. Again it feels more like a lot of things have been made this way, just to make it harder, leaving the fun and fair part out. I have read several critique posts about the bosses, and while I do agree with some of them, I don't think it's one thing you can pinpoint and fixing it would make it good. I think it's an aspect of the DLC, that is observable through every aspect of it.

It feels rushed, weird, unintuitive, and exhausting. I like to complete things just for completing them. While I could not stop myself from playing the base game, I had to force myself sometimes to continue with the DLC.

This review has gotten way too long for it's purpose. I know I am not the only one feeling like this, and I also feel like a lot of valid criticism on the DLC is getting silenced by an almost cult like fanbase, who defend everything fromsoft put's on the market. Hard ≠ good, especially if the "Hard" aspect is archived in a way, that can be found just a bit too much in this DLC. A waterfoul dance problem if you will. It's hard, but it is done so in a very cheap feeling way.

If you got a problem with the way I put it, let me just say this. The base game did so many things very good, smooth and fluid. The feeling was just awesome. The DLC does not do such a thing. If you are searching for more Eldenring, this aint it. It just feels downright weird and off putting in comparison to the main game sadly. It just feels half assed, and off putting.

Ugh, the only game where I had to readjust my review multiple times. I wish I would be in the mood for a big and fancy review, but I am not. I wish I was because this game can and could be a real blast. I do not condemn anyone still liking and enjoying the game. If you like it, great, I get it.

But for me personally, I just can't any more. I love this game to bits, hence why it really hurts me to give it a negative review.
The balancing is questionable and confused. Partially because some balance changes emerged and emerge from bugs with how weapons behave in groups and with the host, yadayadayada. But in all honesty, it feels like, by the way the balancing is executed, while saying "we want to avoid a meta", they kind of create a hard meta. The way this game is made more difficult is also weird and just frustrating. The performance also deserves some love.
It simply feels like they made everything worse and worse for no real reason.

Addendum:
Sadly my review will probably stay negative for good. AH keeps cracking down on feedback, the Discord, Reddit and even Steam pages are echo chambers of most toxic proportions and each time some controversy shows up AH fumbles the ball like they even do with the most basic stuff. No thank you. If you have fun in the game, great, good for you, have at it. But I have no tolerance for wasted potential of those proportions.

Best way for me to describe it, it's a mess, it can be fun and it can be beautiful, but a mess, is a mess.

Timed races... Why the heck would you put one of the most repetetive attributes of gaming history in this game?
