I have, at the time of this writing, almost 3500 hours in Stellaris.

I love this game. I love the replayability, I love the mods, I love the ability to role play and the ability to min/max. Your empire and your play through is limited entirely by your imagination (and the constraints of the game or your PC).

I, like many others, have been eagerly awaiting this game since it's announcement nearly a decade ago. I remember being promised a comprehensive customization tool, a deep RPG experience, and 1000s of AI NPCs with custom routines and behavior.

What I got was customization worse than Skyrim, a game released 9 years ago.
The shallowest of RPG elements, a numbers game with no way to really define a playstyle.
NPC behavior that's worse than GTA5, a game released 7 years ago.
More bugs than any AAA release I've ever experienced.

This game is underbaked. It needed 6 more months of development time at minimum. This is clearly evident as CDPR suddenly changed the description of the game from RPG to action adventure. The bugs span from minor immersion breaking to major game breaking. It's just not ready yet and I find the entire experience to be disappointing.

If you can wait, wait. Maybe this game will improve over time, but at the time of this review, after putting in over 25 hours since launch. I just cant force myself to enjoy it.
