This, ladies and gents, is the most fun I've had with a twin-stick permadeath shooter since The Binding of Isaac. With a passionate community and a development team that went above and beyond to make this game into something truly wonderful with said community, this game is certainly the full package. Everything from the music to the art has wonderful grit and polish, the setting of a hopeless post-apocalyptic wasteland never feeling so vibrant and varied. The controls are smoother than a babe's backside, the design is solid, and the pace frenetic. This is one of those games where a run could last anywhere from five seconds to forty five minutes, but every time the first thought that comes up when the death screen is encountered is, "Let's have another go". Nuclear Throne is as good as it gets for the marriage of well-designed weapons, varied characters, and a hard-as-nails bullet hell atmosphere that will hand you your own ass time and time again and leave you begging for more.
