In a world where fast paced tactical shooters rule the roost this game brings breath of fresh air.

It's a beautiful game that requires patience (a lot), a level head, a good eye, good aim and the ability to out think everyone else.

Sure there are times when rushing about can pay off but if you have an aversion to camping you might find yourself having a hard time in this game!

For me at least there is a certain thrill I get when playing games like this where you are literally hunting people in a large scale environments - Whilst also potentially getting hunted as well!

This feeling is what got me hooked on Evolve which sadly was a bit complex for all the casuals out there, where that game struggled I think Hunt has a more friendly approach to the matter; The Monster is in one location and the clues are out there (Thus hopefully removing people qq'ing about running simulators).

I've played a majority of my time as a Solo-Hunter which pits me against (I think it's) 9 other people which can be either teams or other solo players.

Engaging in a fight against a team of 2 is intense! Especially when they are co-ordinated, either using in game comm's which are proximity based (so you can eaves drop on them) or more than likely if they're smart on discord/ts etc.

They can try and flank you, bait you, overwhelm you, sneak away from you and so on and so on; all the time you've got to be wary of some other people coming along and crashing the party...

Or backing up into a AI creep by accident causing you to panic and scream like the grown child you are (Learnt from personal experience).

You've also only got one life. You can recruit more Hunters...But they've also only got one life.

If you're like me and get attached to digital avatars with names like Butch Justice and Mr. Charily "Stinky" Cooper. It's quite sad when you loose them cause you didn't think a guy would be standing there with a shotgun at head level...

The games beauty comes at a cost to your frame rates (which I hope will improve over time), but even on my pc that's getting borderline potato-y I can run it on High and still play (I think I avg about 35 fps though which can be a tad painful I will admit). I will admit I am playing it on low for the added frames but even so it still looks great.

There are also bugs scattered about the place that *touch wood* I've barely encountered on my hunting expeditions.
But the team behind this do seem to be trying. The discord for the game has dev's and helpful mods and community members which is usually a good sign!

So yeah...

Long and the short of it.

Great game, runs a bit rough but is improving, enjoyable rush when playing, needs patience to do well aaaand hopefully it will grow into something even better!

Keep your head on a swivel and happy hunting people!

This game has to be the best game I have played in a long time, and I feel it's a shame that it had such negative feed back about the dlc...

DLC is optional and won't effect the game play...Maps are free, if you really fancy the look of the new hunters or monsters then go ahead and purchase them but the 9 Hunters and 3 monsters that are bundled with it are all great and are sufficent at doing the jobs needed. Skins are just to look pretty (Bog goliath isn't as good as hiding as stock imo (at least on des/ice maps)).

Gameplay is fantastic, it's so well balanced. Don't get me wrong it's tough if you're not a regular monster and get placed against a premade team of hunters but enjoy the challenge and don't add more salt to the ocean with scrub tears.

The highs and lows that come from almost bagging the monster only to run out of jet pack fuel and eating that rock, or being the monster with a sliver of health and no armour and about to get killed only for the hunter to get taken out by wild life or an ability that gets off cool down just at the last second is a buzz!

When I first heard about this game I was excited about it's prospect, many moons pass and I got to try the beta and I was blown away with it and preordered all the stuff and I was left waiting for my fix.

So please don't hate on a game because critics don't like the dlc plan, play the game yourself, be your own critic.

Buy all the dlc because you think they did such a damn good job on the game.

As a fan of the table top version I bought this game without even checking to see how it was meant to be played, other peoples reviews or how far along it was in development - Thus far I am impressed!

It's early days still but the potential is huge imo.

I also hope it is going to be a hit so the devs could maybe make my 2nd favourite GW game into a pc game - Necromunda.
