THE GOOD:
- Over 100 hours of content (around 30-50 to beat the main story)
- Great stealth mixed with action gameplay
- Nice looking graphics and a smooth 60fps
- Well optimised (just like Ground Zeroes)
- Tons of weapons/items to develop and customise
- Mother Base management can be fun if that's your thing
- Capturing outposts and fultoning enemies never gets old
- Optional missions tasks and S-ranks to be achieved adds lots of replayability
- D-Dog is best buddy
- Great 80's soundtrack
- I enjoyed the story (although it is also one of the biggest bad points of the game)
- Metal Gear Sahelanthropus
- I liked the boss battles but they were disappointing compared to other MGS games
- Cutscenes were enjoyable to watch

THE BAD:
- Even though I found the story interesting, it was horribly paced and kind of ends out of nowhere
- Parts of the plot were never given closure and it felt as if there was no real final mission (because it was cut from the final game)
- Most of Chapter 2
- Important story information being told through casette tapes feels lazy
- Enemies would sometimes act weird/stupid
- Open world is nice and all but I prefer linear structured games
- Side ops can get very repetitive (even though they never stop being fun to do)
- Main missions can also get repetitive (save this dude, extract that guy, etc.)

CONCLUSION:
Even though the story is one of the worst in the series, the gameplay more than makes up for it. Besides, it's not like the story was TERRIBLE.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is still my favourite and I'd probably place The Phantom Pain as my second favourite.

Kill an enemy, do a victory pose, get killed by the five other enemies that are surrounding you.

First of all the mouse sensitivity was all over the place. The camera wouldn't move and when it did it would move really slowly, making the game pretty much unplayable. I found a fix for that which still didn't work very well so I decided to play with a 360 controller. That worked fine but then I got to a door which I couldn't walk through because there was an invisible wall in the way. Apparently the first enemy in the game is supposed to come through it and start attacking you but that never happened. It seems a few other people have had this problem because I was able to find a fix which requires you to record with FRAPS while playing which will make the enemy appear and the invisible wall to disappear allowing you to progress.

I don't know why I should bother playing any longer if I've already had this many problems in the first 5 minutes of the game. Luckily I got it on sale and only wasted a couple of dollars.

Forced a family to move out of my city so I could destroy their home and build a bouncy castle in its place.

I really like Deadly Premonition but cannot recommend this bad PC port. It has a horrible framerate and crashes frequently. The game now freezes at a specific point which is 2 hours into the story (just after going through the hospital) and I cannot be bothered to find a way to progress as it will probably only crash at another specific point.

Luckily I bought it when it was only $2.
