Early Access Review
100% recommend. A horror game with a lot of replayability, Phasmophobia is a great game to play with friends or with randoms. As a new player, it's decently scary, and relatively easy to pick up (find the 3 evidence, select the ghost type, leave). With more experience, you can use ghost behaviours to quickly guess the ghost type. Eventually little/no evidence is needed, and players can do "farming runs" for the extra experience/challenge, using only the ghost behaviour (usually seen through looping the ghost during ghost hunts) to guess the ghost type. There are a few annoyances with some ghost behaviour (Why does Goryo exist) and some inconsistencies can be frustrating (such as shades randomly acting like demons and vice versa, although I find this hilarious), but I believe this adds to the replayability that similar games seem to lack.

If you play Phasmophobia only in private games/with friends, then you can probably ignore the next paragraph as it concerns public lobbies and cheaters, which is my main concern and probably only real gripe with this game.

There is one major issue... the modders/cheaters. I love joining random public lobbies and meeting other players, but I rarely do that now because of how many people mod/cheat. These cheats tend to be relatively harmless (forcing ghost interactions/events, immediately knowing the ghost type, or spawning 100 dead bodies for fun), but the occasional cheater will control ghost hunts to kill certain players or whole lobbies. I've even seen people noclip and fly throughout the map. Most cheaters can overrule the kick feature, so getting rid of them is a real pain. While not always horrible, and while some modders try to be fun with it, it really detracts from the public lobby experience. For me, the public lobby experience became more "figure out if and who is hacking" than "figure out the ghost type."

Also... I miss bugging all of the doors... :(
