Really wish there was a mixed option. The pixel art is really nice and there's some decent potential for the gameplay to expand if this ever gets a sequel (it wont because its under Nicalis) but the last world has an obnoxious difficulty spike when everything around you is signaling that you're supposed to feel unstoppable especially the level on the robo dino. The final boss alone probably took up about a third of my playtime because there's so much nonstop visual/audio noise that it felt like pure luck when I finally beat him.

Also, some of the dialogue hasn't aged very well as there's a solid minute of dialogue that's just rewording the navy seals copypasta and I genuinely had to stop playing for a minute to recompose my will to keep playing.

normally dont care for the deckbuilder genre but this one just really stood out to me. A true masterclass of its genre

I feel bad giving this a negative rating but I'm not sure what to really make out of any of this. I think the artstyle is great and there were a few vignettes that struck a chord but most of the deeper themes are buried in their own little poetry sections that I just don't really feel motivated to read w/ how shallow most of the core game's messages are presented. The constant grammar mistakes didn't help either. Maybe I just haven't taken the time to process it properly but this kinda just left me empty

Shouting "Ian Flynn" at every season 1-3 reference makes this game 5x better.
It's pretty much just more Cosmic Shake for the most part w/ the exception of better movement and set-pieces. I just wish it was longer and had more interaction between Neptune & Dutchman

There's a couple great moments in here like the Gregory and Lewis segments but for the most part it just felt kinda aimless with nothing actually tying back to this supposed "curse". It feels like an entire act of the story is missing while you're watching disjointed, cryptic memories from people you know for 5 minutes before moving onto the next room. I also called the ending in the first few minutes of the game just by looking down and seeing the character model but idk if thats necessarily the fault of the storytelling

Syntax Error 2 where the heist is pretty good but overshadowed by the fact its more than $5 (tho still not as egregious as Syntax was at launch). Honestly, just wait for it to inevitably go on sale in a month or two if its that big of a deal to you; otherwise this is easily the best heist for Year 2

Short and cute game with big de blob / katamari energy if the artstyle didn't give that away already. Pretty humorous at times too. Only issue is that the game gives you practically 0 direction on where to go so I was constantly going in circles for a good chunk of the game but outside of that it's hard to complain really

I didn't think I'd care for his inclusion but this is easily the most I've enjoyed playing the game in a minute. Jacket is so much more expressive compared to 2 and the sociopath is easily one of the best things they've added post-launch. It's just a shame this had to come out at a time where the games future is on pure life support thanks to starbreeze higher-ups. Hopefully this can generate enough revenue and good PR for them to actually treat their flagship IP as their priority over project backshots

Glad I backed this years ago because it's basically a perfect spiritual successor to the wario land games from all fronts. It nails the GBA punk aesthetic down to a T. The soundtrack & sound design in general too is some top notch stuff. Must-buy for really any platformer fan

Only complaint is that there were a few times where an extra visual cue or two would've been appreciated amongst all the noise it throws at you as it's very easy to lose track of what to do in some levels.

I really hate the amount of people writing this off for being "too easy". There's too much charm in here to not at-least gain some satisfaction out of it
