"Small Saga" is a perfect name for this game. Its short but very sweet, and you can finish the whole thing in 10 hours. I wanted "Mouse Berserk", and while I got that, I also got a game that has a lot of heart. Great art style, great OST, a great main party, fun side characters and a fun story that ended on a satisfying note. There isn't grinding or a lot of small fry encounters, focusing more on boss fights. And the combat is, to be brief, a lot of simple systems that play off each other very well.

I only have 2 minor complaints by the end: 1 its very easy. Which is a double edged sword. On one hand it makes it very easy to recommend and enjoy by everyone, but on the other I like my hard fights, and its easy to become dummy strong, with opponents that don't match that ferocity in turn.

And the other was I wished there was more. I liked my time in this little rodent kingdom and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Going forward, Small Saga will be one of those games I will often recommend to others. It may be short, it may be toothless, but its charming and it has heart. Many games don't get good until after the 10 hour mark, while Small Saga leaves an impact. If you're curious enough to read reviews for this, play it. You'll like it.

My chat has enjoyed playing this game, as well as the goofy custom fish options built into the system. For the price it was more than worth it and made streams more fun.

Short, sweet and heartbreaking. By the end I felt a strong connection to the cast through some fantastic writing, delivery and pacing. This is also a narrative heavy game with actual game play segments, which are fun in their own right while adding additional weight and personality to the cast.
