Excellent game. I have played over 1500 hours (other account) and can say that this is my favourite game on steam.
Basically, you choose a nation in the world and begin in 1936, preparing for the World War. Wisely choose the units you produce and deploy in order to achieve your victory. Beware of manpower as it can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. Use Technology to research up-to-date technologies to improve your industries, army, navy and air force. Politics will enable you to enact new laws and replace ministers in order to create your desired backbench. Intelligence will allow you to gain an advantage over your opponents. But beware, as spies are always watching. The AI in the game is probably the only thing I would criticize, but then again why wouldn't you want to control an entire nation by hand? Performing encirclements is probably the most satisfying thing about the game. Barbarossa is always intriguing and exciting. Many would simply play as a major nation, but don't forget the minors who play a large factor in the war. Hold the Southern Flank as Romania or attempt to defend against the Japanese as the Phillipines, there is always a new nation to play.
Join a faction or attempt world domination, it is your choice.
