A Masterclass in Wasted Potential
I bought Starfield at launch and somehow still feel ripped off despite barely touching it until now. Recently, I got excited again after hearing about the Star Wars Genesis mod. So I did what any hopeful idiot would do: installed the mod, bought the required expansion, saw the dev note saying “If you haven’t played yet, wait for the next patch”, and decided to finally experience Starfield as Bethesda intended.
That was my mistake.
I genuinely struggle to find the right words for how bad this game is. Starfield isn’t an epic space RPG it’s a glorified fetch quest simulator wrapped in a sci-fi skin, padded out with loading screens and self important dialogue. It's basically just a fetch quest game created by Tim Waltz and Gavin Newsom voters. The game constantly pretends it’s deep while delivering the mechanical complexity of a chore list.
This had so much potential. The universe is vast, the premise is solid, and yet Bethesda somehow made space feel small, sterile, and boring. You can’t freely fly a small craft on planets. Exploration Bethesda’s supposed strength is chopped into disconnected zones like a badly organized theme park. Everything feels artificial and constrained.
The writing is where things really collapse. Leadership roles are written with such a heavy handed, one note approach that it stops feeling like world building and starts feeling like box checking. Characters aren’t interesting they’re lectures with legs. Male characters are frequently reduced to disposable muscle or comic relief, while authority figures deliver stiff, joyless monologues that drain every ounce of immersion. It’s not empowering it’s lazy. I think that most glaring issue I have with the game is the boss lady mentality, nearly every leadership position is a female character and the guys are just mindless grunts, there's such a glaring bias installed deeply into this game.
NPCs across the board feel less like people and more like social media archetypes awkwardly dropped into a space opera. The result is a universe that feels less like a believable future and more like a convention floor where everyone talks the same, thinks the same, and exists solely to push you to the next objective marker.
And that’s the core problem, nothing feels organic. No discovery. No wonder. No excitement. Just waypoint to waypoint, dialogue box to dialogue box, loading screen to loading screen.
This game should have been incredible. Instead, it’s a bloated, sanitized, risk averse mess that confuses size for depth and messaging for storytelling.
Do not buy this game.
Do not buy the expansion hoping it “gets better.”
Do not waste your time unless you enjoy boredom in zero gravity.
Bethesda didn’t build a universe here they built a checklist.

Early Access Review
It's left me eager for more...

The visuals in The Killing Antidote are good but the game is still early, I'd like to see a little bit more detailed environments to truly bring the game to life. The art style is unique and captivating, making it a joy to explore the world.

The core gameplay is engaging and challenging, with a mix of exploration and combat that keeps you on your toes. I have zero issues with pacing, the game gives you a chance to breath, the overall experience is well-designed and enjoyable. Blowing off zombies limbs never gets old...

The controls are smooth and responsive, making it easy to navigate the game's world and engage in combat. I experienced no major issues with lag or input delay.

The game's atmosphere and sound design work together to create an immersive experience that draws you in and refuses to let go. The world feels alive and responsive, making it easy to become fully invested in the game.

The sound design is detailed and realistic, making it easy to pinpoint the source of sounds and enemies.

I'm thoroughly enjoying The Killing Antidote, and I'm eagerly awaiting the full release. The addition of coop modes will only add to the game's replay value and social features, really looking forward to more development.

Baldur's Gate 3 is an exceptional RPG. It brilliantly blends classic RPG elements, cinematic storytelling, and open-world freedom. Each of its three acts feels like a separate epic. The game's choice-driven narrative and diverse cast of characters provide endless engagement.

Interactivity is a highlight, with creative combat and flexible problem-solving. Dice rolls add depth to role-playing. Magical items offer diverse character builds, and experimentation is encouraged.

Though D&D rules may seem complex at first, patience pays off, this is coming from someone who never played D&D in his life. Minor bugs are being worked out and good performance make for a smooth experience.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a must-play, offering a captivating and endlessly enjoyable RPG adventure that I didn't see coming...
