They forgot to add boats. They forgot how to make maps. Bullets fly randomly out of your gun instead of where you're aiming. I don't know what this is but it isn't Battlefield.

Don't let the reviews dissuade you, it's an A+ game. Sony just attempted to smother it with a pillow while they were high on meth. It's all good - for now.

Early Access Review
This game is decent but I feel like they already bought the Lamborghini and are driving off in it. Came out in as an absolute bombshell but then had basically no updates for months, not even for simple bug fixes. Either their heads are firmly up their own colonic tracts or the devs are too busy counting money to remember that they made a video game.

[Multiplayer Only Review]: The online is riddled with bugs, the store has over 2000 dollars worth of cosmetics, the game crashes constantly, the community is just as toxic as it was on Xbox 360, it's not as optimized as it should be, and controller users have soft aim assist. It's STILL worth playing after all of those negatives.

My biggest complaint is that the aim assist for controller users is excessive. I consider myself pretty decent at fps games and a 7 year old with a controller can dunk on me.

Locked FOV, TAA and FXAA only, random crashes (imagine survival mode) and physics system is dependent on FPS and V-Sync. Almost 10 years between this game and ES: Oblivion, which had the same glaring issues, and nothing has changed.

My complaints aside, it's worth a playthrough. It's not the best installment in the series, but it's formulaic enough to be entertaining.

The purpose of this "game" is to be as addicting as possible while providing absolutely nothing of value in return. I don't know why anyone with a sane and rational mind would recommend this. Ted Kaczynski was right.

You think to yourself, "I won't forget this time. I'll learn from this." But you know that isn't true. You've been here a hundred times. You'll be here a hundred more.

A decent hiking game that is frequently spoiled by its attempts to also be a generic Final Fantasy title.

The first couple hours of this game are great. After you begin to amass a large amount of spirits and tasks, it turns into a gigantic grindfest. Any interest in the narrative or characters soon becomes buried under the sheer amount of tasks and constant grinding for materials, all the way up to the end.

When you near the midgame, it starts to feel like the developers ran out of ideas. The areas start to become smaller, more bland, or with fewer spirits to interact with. The endgame areas are basically completely barren and could have been cut from the game completely and nobody would have been any the wiser, which is pretty disappointing because you have to grind for an upgrade just to access them.

I really wanted to like this game and I ended up playing it for way longer than I should have trying to squeeze enjoyment out of it, but it has a lot of annoying design choices (like stopping your boat every time you go through an event area, of which there are a huge amount of) which really soured my enjoyment of the few positive elements that there were to take in. To be honest, there are only like 2 or 3 interesting characters. A lot of the characters are very boring and some of the spirits are straight up unlikable douchebags.

I recommend that you put this game in your backlog if the concept seems interesting to you, but I don't recommend buying it immediately because you expect it to be fantastic. After all, I don't regret playing it; but I do regret spending 30 hours finishing it.
