There's a certain sub-genre / demographic of anime that I describe as "schlocky children's fantasy." Things like Mon Colle Knight, Monster Hunter Stories, and Magical Circle Guru Guru. It's innocent, goofy, narratively predictable, music pops, characters designs are simple and pleasant. You'll love it because of the time you smoked a giant cat at soccer, or when grandpa gave you a monkey hat. It's adorbs.
