Arc Raiders pushes a bold trajectory, trying to be the middleman extraction game that isn't too casual but not too hardcore, not too pvp but not completely pve. I think they've done a good job to start with, there's plenty of room for improvement but what is there as of right now has definitely been worth the money and I hope to see more updates soon. I don't approve of the monetisation in a game of this entry price whatsoever, but Embark seems to be putting efforts towards making it feel not too intrusive at the very least.
For obvious reasons people will compare this to other extraction shooters which is fair, but personally I feel like it reminds me most of DayZ, they are very different paced games yet still I feel like a lot of the fun and player interaction I get out of DayZ over a few hours of play I can get out of 25 minutes in Arc Raiders.
Addicting gameplay, excellent sound design, great visuals, decent optimisation, questionable monetisation and terrible outfit designs. Arc/10

A number of other reviews have said what mostly needs to be said so I figure ill just add my own small piece.
I couldn't help but be amused by the dorky characters and the equally as dorky plot, hell the whole concept is silly from (100ft) head to toe. You can tell the devs enjoyed themselves making this game and I think by extension that made me enjoy it more too. Glad I stumbled upon this game I had fun.

It genuinely surprised me just how much I ended up liking about this game, it is very clearly a labour of love. There are tonnes of animations for little things that they didn't need to add, many fantastic illustrations for storytelling, mountains of lore to read in your spare time, a lot of voice acting, wayyy more missions than you'd expect. After every completed mission if you exit the game then re-enter again you will be given an illustrated recap of the story for where you are up to?? Which is kinda freaking wild when you know just how many mission nodes there are, that must have taken a lot of time to make.
I particularly love the preparation screens before a mission, the little animated interactions of characters preparing for battle are very endearing.
So yeah other than that I guess id say reverse collapse is a 2D turn based action-mystery game that has very clearly been made by people who not only adore metal gear and xcom but also the process of making games itself. Very good value for money, even more so if you are invested in the greater frontline world.

This is the first game I've played recently that actually feels like it was developed in 2023/24 and not 10 years ago with half its content missing. This game achieves so many cool cinematic moments from simply just playing the game normally, the trailers do not oversell at all and this is the kind of badass gameplay I want to see in many more games of this era. Most people have covered all the major points but one I would like to emphasise is unlike the majority of co-op shooters out there you do NOT need to have friends to enjoy this game, it is very much geared towards anyone joining anyone else with friends or without and still having a good time. Provided you don't have an undemocratic attitude it is also very easy to make new friends in this game, so who knows maybe you'll end up extracting with more than you dived in with?

Short and sweet. Stray has incredible atmosphere and world design that alone makes the game worth playing. While the game is apparently better experienced on a gamepad it actually works perfectly fine with keyboard unlike some other titles that become clunky as hell without joysticks.
My only real criticisms would be:
- The game offers no indication of where the point of no-return is in the story (despite doing so twice for previous zones), so I beat the game without getting to complete the remaining open world tasks I wanted to do.
- Some of the collectable memories can be quite hard to find, so it would be nice if the game gave a clearer indication when there were no memories left in an area to pick up.

Neither of these are a big deal, gives me more to do when I replay it sometime soon. I very much enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

Pretty impressive little simulator, I enjoy occasionally playing around with it to see what sort of weird species end up dominating over the others in my poorly designed environments. Chances are if you're considering getting this then it's already going to be worth your time for its price.

You cannot play through this game and tell me that video games aren't capable of being an art form.

Used to play this when it was just flash game that I could take to school and mess around with during lunch breaks (thanks Xbox magazine disc). This game has an absolute tonne of levels to get through provided you are up to challenge as they do get very tough. I’m still not even close to finishing with my hours and this doesn’t even take into account the years of community made content available. If you are a beginner to platforming games I’d recommend picking this up on sale as you might burn out on the harder content, however for anyone familiar with the genre who desires a challenge or even just a long term time filler - this game will not disappoint.

Not sure what all the complaints about bugs were maybe it was just on some particular systems? This game ran flawlessly for me and was beautiful from beginning to end. The music, physics and visual style haven't aged one bit since original release. One of the best and worst parts is that I can't easily take a friend through the experience, it's completely by chance that you will make that happen. But oh well, that is the nature of the game. Definitely recommended
