To put it short: This is 100% my game of the year. Best RPG released in some time and I couldn't recommend it enough. Warhorse Studios cooked here and I am very excited to see what the next DLC or game they make is.

Alright now to get into the details. I know I just glazed the game but obviously every game has its problems. For one the combat system, while improved from the first game, still has its flaws. Master strike is still overpowered, swords are the only viable weapons to consistently get through an enemies defense for the most part. Because of this, maces and poleaxes are left to just kinda rot in the late game. Not to mention once you get some of the best gear in the game, the combat is easy. The devs have made some decent strides to add more difficulty, but its mainly band-aid fixes of just giving enemies more health and damage but doesn't get to the foundation of the problem.

Honestly, charisma should also be nerfed, one way or another as well. Allowing you to get out sticky situations frequently. At least shouldn't be as easy as a fall back to get away with crime as it is right now.

Smithing weapons is a new feature in this game as well and is very nice, but it is very bare bones. Hopefully in a future DLC or game it is brought in a much more refined and established way.

The game does have a limit on what you can spend your silver. The DLC's do add a good amount of things to spend on, but if you don't own the DLC's you run out of things to spend money on somewhat quickly after completing the game

For the levels and stats, the cap is set to 30. I'm totally fine with the actual gameplay stats maxing at 30, but once a stat reaches it, there is no more interacting with that tree. Let that level number keep going up, just the gameplay stats don't go up itself. I hate that I max out craftsmanship pretty early on in my play-through and now anytime I do anything related to it I will never see that level 30 go up. Let me keep leveling the number itself so at least there is some level of satisfaction and progression!

I love a lot of the new ranged weapons, especially the new gunpowder weapons. But my goodness the gunpowder weapons are near useless. So hard to aim and no guarantee to actually kill the person it hits. You'd be better off using the reinforced crossbow if you wanted one really powerful shot. At least with that you can aim it better, it's silent, and can poison the bolts.

I know I just went on a pretty long tangent of negativity there, but it is all for love and compassion of this game and wanting to see it better and become more fun. Behind these minor gripes is a truly beautiful experience that you need to go through now if you haven't yet. Yes, even at full price it is.
