Aside from bugs and glitches that have been in the game since forever and never fixed, annoying primitive and non-user-friendly UI, degrading game performance with every update, this game has no non-carebear servers.

If your thing is building a base and camp there with your squad mates, venturing out for 10 minutes every 2 hours with the rest of the server doing the same, then this game is for you. You will enjoy seemingly empty feeling servers while their population is full (aside from 1 sector on the entire map where all the PvP happens). You will have no pleasure in experiencing any of the survival mechanics the game has to offer because your base will have all the supplies you and your carebear friends are hoarding for weeks to come. You will experience next to none random encounters if you decide to explore the map (aside from the single PvP sector and occasional mili base exploration). And you will almost never think that you are playing a multiplayer game if you play solo and refuse to carebear yourself in a base with other like-minded individuals.

If you are looking for adventurous runs similar to those DayZ has to offer on some of their popular servers, then just stick to that game because you will find none of that here. Want a 1st person only server? Too bad, this game doesn't have any with people playing on them. Want a server with no base building to encourage player exploring and random encounters similar to that of DayZ? Look elsewhere. You want to enjoy survival mechanics in an open-world survival game? Not going to find that here.

To sum it up: if you can deal with poor performance, bugs, and UI issues, you will not enjoy this game due to the current playerbase unless base-camping style gameplay is your thing. If that's the case idk why you would chose SCUM over other better alternatives. If you're looking for a more jump-in, adventure style experience where you meet randoms and never know where and when you will find your next kill or death, you will also not find that here. Can't recommend even thought the game has all the features and mechanics that are never used.
