Game is PEAK. Just give yourself some time to click with the mechanics and you'll enjoy it; plus it has an endless arsenal of mods all made by the community!
I suggest going through all of the challenges first; the AIs on the 3rd and 4th difficulty sections can be a pain to beat at first; but as you learn the game they'll get easier! ;)
