i have enemy unknown on my 360, its a great game

Starting anew with TFTD.. playing on 5 seconds, no increased speed at all. It runs on my second monitor in window mode and I check back to see if research is complete or aliens are terrorizing. Pretty fun!

You guys hear the news? 2K Games got slapped by X-com fans.. They finally are making a real Re-make that is Turn based strategy and base building. Just like the original. It looks similar, but I hope they can deliver..

I have ufo:tts, but I can't say I've played it in a while. Its hella fun though. Some of the other members of the X-Com:TFTD group also have it.

The companies behind this game make amazing quality games. Especially FPS's. I would not be worried, and in fact, this could be one of the best shooters/solutions for X-Com we could hope for. Its coming back in SOME capacity you guys! What is the issue? A good shooter would be just fine. Think of it! I just hope they don't deviate too far from the X-Com core.

After alot of reading you're right in the end :c X-Com is all about the strategic gameplay, it was alright for Fallout to pull it off seeing as you were one person wondering the wastelands, i'm just going to point my finger and blame anyone who has ever bought a FPS!

As for me, sadly until I start FRAPSing dosbox, I'm not touching TFTD right now. Instead I'm trying the spinoff UFO extraterrestrials and Frapsing that for LP's. Dosbox and fraps just make for more hoops for what I want to enjoy easily for now. The challenging stuff is for later! Though my TFTD films would be pretty fun... =P

Is it just me or do the new steam noises in the beta sound like they come from xcom with added echo? Thatt's what I keep hearing...

Using a modded Xcom version here too, but if I name the executable "Dosbox.exe" and keep it in the "Steam\steamapps\common\xcom ufo defense" directory, steam picks it up fine.

I play X-com through several mods and editors which fix the game. Sadly I haven't found a way to do this through Steam yet, since I'm running another Executable which changes the version of the game as well.

It's hardly fair to suggest that UFO should compete with games like Team Fortress 2 and Bad Company 2, even if it is a good game. That's like asking a segway to compete against a forumla 1 racing car. Segways are cool and all, but they don't have the mass appeal that wanton destruction at 200mph seems to have.

Why isn't Xcom not in the top 3 played games of this group? It's blasphemy!

I post LP videos and stuff so there's that. Space-admin-man I'll look into Xcom 2000 for sure that sounds like fun! I always just used Xcom util for multiplayer games within the classic games.

Whhaat. I began 2nd mission and my ship, before anyone had been taken out, was grenaded and my entire team died.... LOL

Sweet... got the disturbance sensor on the first mission.. I freaken owned the map with 2 colalanths and detecting their positions.. lol
