Is CSGO really THAT hacker infested?

So, I am a relatively new player to CSGO. I am not very experienced, only Nova 2 and 280 hours, a decent amount on casual. I have 124 competitive wins. Ever since I started, the people Ive played with, my friends, this subreddit, the community on steam, and on youtube have always talked about how "hacker-infested" CSGO is. They've always been super quick to assume hacks, complaining in half the games I lve played about hacks on the other team. Especially on youtube and on this subreddit I keep seeing everybody refer to hacking as this serious issue and it's ruining CSGO and there is sooo many hackers.

But is there ACTUALLY? I am not very experienced, but out of the 124 games Ive won and the ~200 Ive played, if the game had THAT big of a problem with hackers shouldnt I come across them more often? Ive been in 3 games total where Ive actually thought hacking was something that was happening. 2 times it was an obvious waller and the 3rd I guy flat out wallbanged me from the other side of the map on inferno and his team mates even said he was clearly hacking. Other than these 3 scenarios, I dont believe Ive ever come across hackers. People talk about how hard it was to get out of silver because of hackers. Wasnt that hard to get out of silver. Took me a while but thats just because Im a slow learner, not because of hackers.

I think we all have a bad mentality. I dont think the game has that many hackers. The game is not being "ruined" by hackers. People need to stop bitching about hackers and just stop crying and improve on their mistakes and admit when someone is better than them. Silver wouldnt be hard to get out of if people just decided to improve instead of crying hacks all the time. There really isnt THAT many hackers. There are a decent amount of smurfs, but smurfing isnt even a big deal IMO. It is harsh on new players and I wouldnt do it but people want to play with their friends who might be newer than them and dont want it to affect their real rank.

Hacking has not been a detriment to my playing experience at all. Ive a had a great time in MM since I started and I think people are bitching and exaggerating problems that arent there or are barely there. Maybe Im just ignorant but thats how I feel.

Hello millo31. I am currently in the rank DMG. I would absolutely agree that CS:GO has a hacking problem. Of course, all FPS games have a hacking problem regardless of what anticheat they use. I currently do not play matchmaking at this time and have instead gone to CEVO. My Vacstat.us list confirms those that I get placed against were hackers.

I think CS:GO has a bigger problem not because of the hackers but more because of the dedication you enlist to when you start a competitive matchmaking game. Say a hacker shows obvious walling or even an aim-hack, you must go through with the average 45 minutes games against them. The hackers or "smurfs" will degrade you with insults and etc. Sure, you ignore this and get on with your day. However, lack of moderation makes matchmatching a process you must endure regardless of how badly you want to leave.

Frequently at my rank I get matched against those with > 40 hours in-game and CSGO being their only game. Immediately I lose motivation and the game becomes more of a "let's try to see if this guy is hacking" than just trying to play the game and have fun.

Lower ranks such as those in Nova and Silver may not encounter frequent hackers, so I can understand your anger towards those that label CSGO as being a hacker-engulfed game.

Personally, matchmaking has lost its touch with me. CEVO provides me with a higher level of confidence towards who I go against. Even if I get dominated by a guy with 3000+ hours, I would still be having more fun than enduring a brand new account spamming chat and ending the game with a 40-0 KD.

Yeah, rage cheaters start at DMG-LE after calibration (and winning all of their
games). If you are stuck in silver you might never get to see one, but at
higher ranks cheaters are fairly common.

I'm DMG, just got here recently. In every one of my losses from the past two weeks, the player leading the enemy team either had >50 hours, an obvious hack, or a private profile. Its pretty rough atm, even after all these banwaves. I've kinda just switched to League and some occasional cevo
