If anyone was interested in picking up the remastered version of the Ship for a fun multiplayer day it's on sale and now has world leaders. They have added Trump and Clinton to the world leaders and that looks hilarious.

Hey, folks! I've been dabbling a little bit with Wasteland 2 this week and I've really enjoyed it so far. I think it's the kind of game that can hold my attention long enough for me to actually finish a playthrough.

I'm Not Quite Dead!

Hey, everybody!

Sorry I haven't been around much these past couple of weeks or been very active on Steam or elsewhere. There's been a lot of unpleasant stuff going on in Real Life(tm), mostly involving pet health issues, and admittedly I'm not taking it very well. We lost our cat Angel last Thursday, and I fear my cat Maggie may be facing the same fate.

It's made me a bit more withdrawn than usual and made it harder for me to focus or concentrate, leading to fewer (and shorter) livestreams and less-than-stellar performance at work.

My wife has been amazing in helping me deal with everything that's going on, and I know all of you have been rooting for us too. Your warm wishes and cheers from afar mean a lot to us both, and I'm grateful to be a part of such a wonderful group of people.

I don't know just yet when I'll be able to come roaring back to my usual level of gaming and livestream activity, but I'm hopeful it'll be soon. I do still plan to run a livestream this coming Saturday.

In the not-too-distant future, I still hope to set up a heavily-modded Minecraft server for us to play together on, pick up Factorio and host at least a few sessions of multiplayer Fortresscraft.

We're sort of in a "holding pattern" at the moment waiting to see how the chips are going to fall with Maggie, and that'll have a big impact on how quickly I can get back up to speed. It's going to be very hard for me to lose her -- she's pretty special for a variety of reasons, but one in particular is going to make her passing devastating. I know, I know, it sounds cheesy, but it's the truth.

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm not dead, I'm not quitting livestreaming or gaming, and that I'll be back in full force soon. Your kindness and support through all of this has really helped, and I sincerely appreciate it. I couldn't wish for better friends :)

ARK Survival Evolved Server Online

Greetings, all! I've set up an ARK Survival Evolved dedicated server that's ready to go, eagerly awaiting our antics.

The server is listed in-game in the "unofficial servers" list; it's named "Willfe_Test" and is password-protected (you'll need to tick the "show password protected" checkbox on the server list page to see the server).

Anyone is welcome to join; it's set for a 40 player maximum right now (just to make sure it doesn't get overwhelmed and fall over at random). Its password to join is "deadbeef" (without quotes).

Before any griefers get their hopes up too much, the server's configured for PvE gameplay only. If griefing becomes a problem anyway, please contact me via Steam (here or via private message or chat) to let me know. We'll switch to whitelisting if necessary.

I'm delighted to announce our very own "The Reverend" John White is throwing his hat into the livestreaming ring and starting up his own brand new gaming group and livestreaming channel!

Success! Space Engineers Servers Back Online!

I'm delighted to report I've resolved the issue with my Space Engineers servers and they're both back up and running (and they even show up in the server browser now, huzzah)!

It was the Windows Firewall that was choking everything up. As it turns out, if a program's path changes (in this case, a drive letter changed because of the disk swap after that failure a few months back), the firewall isn't updated with the new path (and doesn't notice it). Thus, it sees a "new" program trying to poke through the firewall and denies the connections.

The fix is to manually add the dedicated server executables (from their new location) to the firewall's "allowed" list.

Anyway, things are up and running now, so have at it, everyone! My apologies for how bloody long it took to get this fixed.

We Found Our Cat

Just to let folks know, one of our neighbors called us and said she'd seen our cat Rocky out in a little wooded area behind her house. Sure enough, when we headed back there ourselves to see, we found our little girl after looking for only a few minutes.

Thanks everyone for your kindness, support and encouragement during this whole thing. It really helped get us through the past few days.
