No change in the problem so far:

The following errors occurred during your registration
The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed.

I've now tried IE/FF, text/audio, and different machines several times. I gather from the site issues forum thread that this problem occurs for everyone. Is a fix in the works?

I've tried to register for the WePlayCiv forums twice today, several hours apart. The captcha is broken. Sending an browser-based email to report the problem... requires a captcha. I could find no (other) method listed to contact an admin. Anyone with the ability to contact Dave or an admin about this problem, please do so.

For the future: a broken captcha should not leave unregistered users with zero ability to contact the site admins. Something is needed so that admins are capable of receiving notice that they can't receive notice.

Please leave me a reply through Steam.

Feeling pretty good about myself right now. Just won my first game of Civ V, and it was my first full playthrough. Played as the Ottomons on a large map, warlord difficulty (I think - don't laugh, it was my first game) and achieved a diplo victory in spite of the fact that all the major civs hated me because of my level of aggression. :)
