Sorry for barging in like that, but I just got word that NADEO is currently hiring a 3D Artist for their games (Trackmania, etc...)

For those who are interested: http://emploi.afjv.com/emploi-jeux-video/EINF349-11480 (The offer is written in French only for now)

I like Blender because it is free, and that is the bottom line. The fact that there are plenty of tutorialsand a large community isa plus. Most recently AMD, and Epic Games have become sponsors for Blender so more features for Game ready exports will most definitely be coming soon.
18 Jan, 2017 @ 4:20pm
I also have blender and max but i use rhino for work and have become very comfortable using it for game models that i rarely have to use the other programs except for things like havoc or when an engine requires dummies , its not the greatest rendering engine or animations, but for modeling i find its tools to be very deep and interface very easy to use of course the last part is subjective
18 Jan, 2017 @ 2:11pm
Rhino 3D? I've never heard of that one... I use Blender c:
17 Jan, 2017 @ 9:18pm
Blender :)
17 Jan, 2017 @ 6:25pm
We're too poor for that.. Blender ftw! :SBchicken:
17 Jan, 2017 @ 3:40pm
Greetings new to the group. Any Rhino 3d users here ?

Does anyone here know any YouTubers who do game reviews? I just got a game released on Steam, and it's very exciting for me. But I want to do my part and find ways to market the game, and keep traffic coming to it.

Here's a link to the game if anyone is interested:

How did you find me? I'm just curious.
22 Jul, 2016 @ 9:48am
I've watched Andrew Price's PBR materials and he says that the "Glass shader" in Cycles is accurate just as it is, I'm not a light scientist or anything, but I know that glass needs to take in absorbtion values, and have light dispersion (like decorative glass prisms where the light will shine in different variations of RGB).

I've been working on a glass node that should be able to do all this and have extra to work with for creativity. I'll be submitting some images soon!
10 Jul, 2016 @ 9:13pm
Thanks! I'll watch them when I'm ready to learn to make materials and what not.
9 Jul, 2016 @ 5:16pm
*Edit: The top video is "Photorealism Explained", and the bottom one is "PBR materials"
9 Jul, 2016 @ 5:15pm
I'm a hobbyyist, and I just want to make something I enjoy looking at. I really just use Blender as a tool to make something that I am thinking about, and then see it visually.

Oh, and if you are interested in Photorealism, I would suggest watching Andrew Price's videos:

Oh my... that's expensive D: I bet only medium to large studios actually buy those programs.
I haven't tried low-poly art yet sounds intrestring... I've been focusing on trying to achieve photorealism.
7 Jul, 2016 @ 3:34pm
$1500! Yikes. I know that high end CG programs are expensive but yikes.. (How many people actually buy them, if you know what I mean ;) ) What i've been doing lately is working on some low-poly art, has anyone here ever tried it?
7 Jul, 2016 @ 6:56am
I think Blender could be used proffesionally just as 3DS Max and and Maya, and I wouldn't have to spend $185.00/mo. for subscription.

I would convert and try new products if instead of subscription, maybe they could have a one time payment option. ( Like Unity with their $1500 option O_o )
4 Jul, 2016 @ 6:40pm
well, yeah that's true when you said that you are free software user, they would think we have poor skill.

and yeah 3d Max or Maya always took so long time to start up once unlike Blender which is incredible fast for start up,same as Photoshop too,I like GIMP more than Photoshop now since it's took so long time to start up even my rig is very high end, nothing change so much.
4 Jul, 2016 @ 3:13pm
I find that the higher end programs (Maya, 3DSM) are often used as they are perceived as better and if you say 'Im a Blender user' then people who use the other programs will not take you seriously. I think that (as you said) Blender is very stable, free and can do things that other CG programs can do.
(Im Tiffis btw, I just converted myself into a Walrus)
4 Jul, 2016 @ 11:22am
I'm a Blender user too, although I have used 3DS Max and Inventor at school. I find that many Autodesk products are too poorly optimized and don't run as fast as Blender does, and they require higher-end PCs.
3 Jul, 2016 @ 10:17pm
I used only Blender right now,I used to use both Max and Maya, still I never tried ZBrush.
3 Jul, 2016 @ 12:48pm
Thanks. What kind of modelli ng user are you? (Blender, 3DS Max, Zbrush, etc.)
2 Jul, 2016 @ 11:40am
Hey,guys I am new here good to see your works.
3 Jun, 2016 @ 9:27am
Yeah, but I just lower my expectation so I won't be upset about it. I don't really like that finals are weighed so much. Just makes everyone teach & study towards the finals instead of learning to understand and apply the material to life.
31 May, 2016 @ 8:43pm
Does anyone feel like their work goes unappreciated sometimes? I have to work on two finals tonight or I get an incomplete even though my grades are As... Sometimes I feel like standards based grading doesn't show appreciation to learners or high-achievers....but just those who follow "standards".

Pretty upset :L
26 May, 2016 @ 6:17pm
Good luck!
26 May, 2016 @ 2:52pm
This is unrelated.....but I have an English paper due tomorrow, wish me luck!

22 May, 2016 @ 10:22am
i dont know who can or not, its question about who wana to work on that, and what he have from that...if you understand me :) and if you maybe start to model one day,you can ask someone or ask any question about modeling or something else that have realtions with 3D/2D.... in this group ,and you will get answer for sure :) thanks for joining group :)
22 May, 2016 @ 9:42am
