As you probably already know, three new heroes have been added to the Dota 2 hero roster! (slowpoke.jpg)

-Chaos Knight
-Mortred (PA)
-Gyrocopter

Try them out via co-op vs. AI and learn the ways of either.

A) Destroying Everything with a stampede of pissed off horses.
B) Cutting throats and one-hitting most squishy supports.
C) Shooting rockets... shooting fast rockets... and nuking just about anything from a distance.
D) All of the above (if you can manage to build a hard-carry Gyro on a horse)

Here are some tips to succeed in any of these three arts.

-With Chaos Knight, get a Manta... (moar hoarses)
-With PA, go tri-lane and last-hit creeps with your stifling blade early game.
-With Gyro, learn to play like a boss and gank like a machine. (he's way too much fun)
-With Gyro, calling him Corki via all chat may cause massive flames to pour out of your computer.

Anyway, enough of that....

Well if you played TF2 I'm sure you know how the item system works. Crates require keys, which can be bought... items are dropped randomly regardless of performance (i think)... and Battlepoints are an excuse to play moar Dota.

UofA!!

Well, I've graduated. So I won't be able to play AS much as I used to. I've recently been picked up as a 6th man for an all German team trying out for The Defense (tournament). So far all I've played is Crystal ♥♥♥♥♥ twice but we've won which is nice.

On another note, the game is almost out of closed beta and it is up to everyone to make sure UofA dominates.. many of you are awesome and picked up really quickly. A special shout-out to everyone I've played with.. those Skype calls were epic and we will still have more of them.

So yea, kick ass and make UofA rock. Figure out your role and work together.

Hello, Hello-

So to those new to DotA, I want to discuss teamplay before you solo matchmake into a team filled with Russians against Na'Vi super-humans...

(no offense to any Russians, you just don't want to deal with a team that only speaks in acryllics)

First. Teamplay- Gank as a team. It wins. Without teamplay you will end up with three people running into a team of five late game, dying and allowing them to push while your Mirana solo-farms top so she can get that Butterfly she's been farming for over 30 minutes.

Assists give you gold. Don't forget that. Last-hitting hero kills as a support is only necessary if your sure the carry/ganker can't catch them. Supports farm assists, gankers farm hero kills, pushers farm tower kills, carry's farm everything. A carry's job is to find any opportunity to farm gold before late game. If it's late game, all the farming you did early-mid game should suffice for you to be a BAMF. There are no rambo heroes, no matter how farmed you get it's extremely rare to get to the point where you can 5v1 a team. So if your team dies in a 3v5 fight. The other 2 should defend ancients and wait for the other 3 to respawn.

Also, don't be afraid to play co-op vs. AI. It's a great way to test out new heroes and not end up with a team that flames you. Just beware, AI are programmed for team-play.

Also, Starcraft II and many other non-Steam games are playable through Steam. This is just as an FYI- and I encourage any non Steam users to link their SCII accounts to a Steam account.

On top of that, Steam is releasing a new system known as Steam Works for Dota 2... I suggest everyone take a look at some of the features that will offer. (it's pretty amazing)
