Tactic on most common team battle maps (3vs3) SYRIA AND ITALY

Generally:
->Everyone has to know on what position he is playing
->A mix of offensive and rather defensive nations for backing up needed
-> A team battle is not a collection of 1vs1 games, have an eye on your allies and speak to them or just send reinforcements in time when you see that they are in trouble
-> All tactical tips in this guide are for designed for the beginning of the game, in sequel you have to react on what the enemies/ teammates are doing

ITALIAN GRASLAND:
-> forests and hills in middle of the map are essential
Position1:
-> a lot depends on you here cause if you have to retreat all your teammates also have to go back!!!
-> offensive nation (with strong cav for taking the cliffy hill) ->>> FRANCE
-> concentrate all forces there, dont split army and send half of it to the far flank
-> send shooter cav to the small forest and a mix of lancers, chasseurs a cheval, cuirassiers or husars (depends on nation) best on 2 or 3 ways up the hill (directly with 1 lancer unit and 1 cuirassiers is excellent)
-> send 2-3 lines to the small forest (old guards!!), 1 up the hill from forest side, 1 on direct way on hill, 1 through middle forest on hill (best inf to use: polish legions for hill) -> lights should be ready to move into the forest as soon as the enemy cav is gone or retreating
-> you decide cav battle on hill also by bringing your inf up very fast BUT WATCH OUT FOR SQUARES!!!
Position 2:
-> rather defensive nation with good inf and light inf needed->>> GREAT BRITAIN
-> here you need to move your army into the big forest in middle, watch the terrain in that forest, there is a small ridge in there which will spend cover but try to take that with lights when it is safe from cav attacks, in beginning move first your 3-4 lines in there and cover the rest of your army
-> if possible (depends on enemy nation) send cav support through middle to cliffy hill and try to help your ally there or just stop the enemy cav on position 2 from helping on hill
Position 3:
-> here you can play both kinds of nation -> PRUSSIA/FRANCE/OTTOMANS
Offensive Nation:
-> send 2-3 shooter cav to the small forest and 2-3 on the hill/ or for support to middle forest if needed
-> backup cav with lines and when it is save from cav attacks then send your lights on hill and into the small forest (also watch the terrain in the forest!!!)
Prussia:
-> it depends on enemy nation, if it is offensive then dont try to take the small forest and concentrate on hill, if he plays something rather defensive you can send your lancers/husars in

SYRIAN RIDGE
-> occupying the central hill and especially the forest there is very important in order of tactical flexibility in action on flanks cause this hill is almost impossible to be taken later in game
Position 1:
(1) attacker side: rather defensive nation -> PRUSSIA/ GREAT BRITAIN
-> support middle player with cav for taking the hill
-> in my opinion it is good to concentrate forces (especially lights) in left forest
-> WATCH TERRAIN (very tricky!!!)
(2) (a) defender side: rather defensive nation -> PRUSSIA/ GREAT BRITAIN
-> take defensive position, take forests in front of hill and send backup units to the middle player
(b) defender side: Ottomans (very very offensive tactic and very hard to play)
-> for this tactic it is essential that the hill is being attacked by middle player
-> send shooter cav on hill in front of you and 2-3 shooter cav next to big middle hill and into the forest
-> backup your cav with lines and 3-4 swords and take the forest, also try to support middle player to take the big hill if possible
-> your target is to push back the enemy on position 1 and take his forests
-> this tactic can work pretty good vs offensive nations but vs defensive nations with a lot of line infantry like GB i would not recommend it
Postion 2:
-> OFFENSIVE NATION to occupy the central hill and forest->>> FRANCE/ OTTOMANS -> send all your cav up and especially concentrate on the forest and try to clear the top for your inf, but try to save as much cav as you can and make enemy cav follow you when your infantry is already climbing up the hill -> form squares
-> backup cav with line inf in close formation so you can form squares faster (with france send old guards into the forest cause it is the most important position to have)
-> when it is safe from enemy cav charges then send your lights on the top of hill (use the terrain !!)
Position 3:
-> here you can play defensive and back up the middle especially when position 1 player is attacking too or you can attack yourself (on this position you are quite flexible)
-> generally i would say that PRUSSIA/ BRITAIN is best here cause you can do offensive moves but rather slowly (the terrain is quite open here and france/ottomans are better for a use in smaller areas)

ARMY GUIDE
Great Britain:
-> classic gen, 1 light dragoon, 1 light dragoon KGL, 2 light KGL, 3 light, 2 KGL foot, 6 foot, 2 guards, 1 fencibles
Pussia:
->classic gen, 2 lancers, Towarzys, Brandenburg Ulans, 5 fusiliers, 7 musketeers, 2 guards, 1 Landwehr
France and Ottomans army composition depend on the position you are playing on and also your enemy’s nation and game style

TERRAIN MAPS: TIPS & TRICKS

Terrain maps: tips & tricks

POSITION:
-> what’s your “task“ on the particular position (conquer hills/ forests/etc in beginning)
-> what’s the best nation which fits with your “targets“
-> speak with team mates about a special tactic if needed, in most cases, a team with mixed nations is most effective (good lights & shooter cav support)

DEPLOYMENT PHASE:
-> where is the best position for each unit concerning its abilities (good melee defense/attack-> hills)
-> look at ways your units have to run and adapt your formation (deep formation when you have to run up a hill)
-> if you pass forests/houses/villages they make you slower so try to avoid them when you want to reach a position as fast as possible

MAP CHARACTERISTICS:
-> watch the line of sight of your shooting units in order of not to shoot the ground
-> use small ridges to your advantage in infantry fight
-> take the opportunity for a melee charge downhill if you cant win fight in shooting

IN GAME TIPS:
-> switch off “fire at will“ in beginning of game (especially of shooter cav!!!) and allow it when you are about to use the particular unit
-> try to use especially guards as effective as possible (target should be that they use all their ammunition and then go melee)
-> use the “motivate“ ability of your general on guards when you are about to use them
-> when you have to form squares cause of enemy cav, try to send cav on enemy lines so they cant shoot your squares
-> don’t give cav charge orders behind your/allied infantry
-> use mini map, especially when there is a “slower phase“ without high activity you will see enemy moves quickly
-> if you have to/ want to attack and the enemy has a defensive formation, analyse his positions, his unit types, his line of sights, his numbers etc and think about the best counter units
-> never let your army be devided or get seperated from your allies, try to conquer positions and take opportunities to devide the enemy’s forces
-> try to fight in advantage of higher numbers by for example defending your positions like forests with less units and send reinforcements to a place where a fight is going on
-> think about the consequences of your moves and the enemy’s reaction

I know that some points are impossible in some situation and you cant always use every unit in the most effective way but it can be your general aim.
Maybe some of these points help you, thanks your reading,
TIM
