Twiggy 22 Aug, 2014 @ 10:06pm
I have Sunday off. I would love to play a battle with either of you gents then. Let me know if you can.
GrayGhost 22 Aug, 2014 @ 12:44pm
Same here Twiggy managing work, life, and a newborn is quite hard and still find time to play lol It's hard and manage Battlefield 4 on Xbox one lmao
ozkat (VegasOZ) 22 Aug, 2014 @ 9:25am
I must admit I've somewhat lost some interesting MP. Either I am not very good (although I did hold Twiggy to what would have been historically a draw) or not very lucky. My troops (Union) just don't seem to be able to inflict enough casualties or to hold their positions worth a twit. I'm like 0-2-10 in MP.
Twiggy 21 Aug, 2014 @ 7:21pm
I agree. But me personally, I've been working so much lately I haven't had time to partake as much as I would like to. Such is life. I'll get a day off here coming up and I plan on wrecking some Generals when I do. :emofdr:
GrayGhost 20 Aug, 2014 @ 3:30pm
Ozkat you better start playing MP your not even in the rankings lol me and Twiggy are in the top 30s lol
Twiggy 16 Aug, 2014 @ 4:41pm

GrayGhost 11 Aug, 2014 @ 2:55pm
Twiggy and Ozkat you wanna test MP?
Twiggy 10 Aug, 2014 @ 7:23pm
I knew who you meant haha
GrayGhost 10 Aug, 2014 @ 6:38pm
Whoops sorry Ozkat LMAO I'm drunk on shark week right now haha
ozkat (VegasOZ) 10 Aug, 2014 @ 6:23pm
GG referred to me as "Twiggy" ! I think he is on the sauce a little early on this fine Sunday...

LOL
Twiggy 10 Aug, 2014 @ 5:57pm
I think we all agree that nobody likes a forum nazi.
GrayGhost 10 Aug, 2014 @ 5:20pm
That's ashame Twiggy, humor is a bad thing these days lmao I guess haha very very sad
ozkat (VegasOZ) 10 Aug, 2014 @ 4:18am
I see that one of the moderators of the public forum deleted one of my (in)famous threads and locked another one. I hope we are not going to be stuck with a "beta tester" strictly serious all of the time mode in the public forum. Fun and jokes and humor builds a community. As we all know dudes like to talk trash and give 'em the business. I try to interject a little humor to keep the forum going and because I am the FUNNIEST PERSON EVER BORN, so it suits two important purposes... LOL

And you say??
GrayGhost 9 Aug, 2014 @ 4:02am
That and the sunken road "bloody lane" at Antietam.
Twiggy 8 Aug, 2014 @ 10:25pm
I imagine that The Hornet's Nest was probably one of the least desirable places to be. Ever.
ozkat (VegasOZ) 8 Aug, 2014 @ 8:16pm
I love that line from Ken Burn's Civil War where Shelby Foote reports that some Civil War troops said that the best a man could say was "I was more scared than at Shiloh".
GrayGhost 7 Aug, 2014 @ 4:55am
I can't remember where I read this I think it was the Battle of Shiloh where men would hide behind a tree with just there butt poking out the side praying to get hit so they could go home, true story lol
Twiggy 6 Aug, 2014 @ 1:07pm
I would much prefer to take a miniball in the femur. There is no doubt that minié ball ruined some guy's afternoon.
blood-phoenix 5 Aug, 2014 @ 8:28am
Interesting article with pictures of a wide variety of minie balls, good information about their use in the Civil War, and a macabre picture of a human femur that is nonetheless amazing...

Claude-Étienne Minié, (born Feb. 13, 1804, Paris, France—died Dec. 14, 1879, Paris), French army officer who solved the problem of designing a bullet for the muzzle-loading rifle. The bullet became known as the Minié ball.

See this link for additional information (I had a better link but it wouldn't work for some reason).
Also has a picture of him for anyone interested.

Re: "friend of blood phoenix"...

You have our deepest sympathy...

LOL

Heh heh, I'm sure he appreciates that! (Its more true than you know)
blood-phoenix 5 Aug, 2014 @ 8:16am
".69 cal and couldn't imagine getting hit by that"
My memory of it is a little hazy (its been a long time since the war, lol) but I would bet good money that getting hit by one of those would propel the "recipient" a considerable distance through the air...
GrayGhost 31 Jul, 2014 @ 6:23am
If I can I'll post pics on here of some of the actual mini balls I've found , I've found some whoppers .69 cal and couldn't imagine getting hit by that lol
Specky4eyes 30 Jul, 2014 @ 8:59pm
ah got it the Minie ball ---in the source i was reading it was called the Miniball!---doh!
Specky4eyes 30 Jul, 2014 @ 8:35pm
oh thanks Twiggy---but the the outcome of said projectile would be fouling of the barrel pdq---and damn it---your constitution preceeds you sir!
Twiggy 30 Jul, 2014 @ 8:28pm
A minie ball is pretty much a hunk of lead with a conical tip and a hollowed out rear. When the black powder goes off the hollowed out end of the lead round expands which causes the projectile to spin with the rifling of the barrel.
Specky4eyes 30 Jul, 2014 @ 6:48pm
Evening Sirs---i have two questons---1- what is a Miniball,i've just started doing research into C/W[coming from other side of the pond of 19th Century gaming-----and 2- if Twiggy is still alive,my dastardly plan from removing a multiplayer opponant has failed---any hangover yet!

Welcome to the wackiest group around lmao
Twiggy 29 Jul, 2014 @ 11:44pm
Welcome, ddschirle.
blood-phoenix 29 Jul, 2014 @ 1:00pm
Hey everyone. Please welcome to the Forum and the FHBT my good friend ddschirle, a grizzled grognard of many campaigns that I've faced across uncountable gaming tables (and computer battlefields) and who was the commander of my reenacting unit for years, back when I was younger, healthier, and better looking and more actively involved in that. Prepare to be confounded by his brilliant dissertations on matters of military significance.
ddschirle 29 Jul, 2014 @ 12:51pm
glad to be here I am a friend of blood phoenix
Twiggy 28 Jul, 2014 @ 11:53pm
The way I see it. My old lady would never kill me, she wants to keep me around so she can torment me for the rest of her life. haha
GrayGhost 28 Jul, 2014 @ 4:42pm
Your in trouble now lol
ozkat (VegasOZ) 26 Jul, 2014 @ 9:15pm
Probate...

LMAO....

Yup, you have a sharp eye. I did not consider that one...hehehe
Twiggy 26 Jul, 2014 @ 8:49pm
Sometimes I watch those crime shows like "Killer Women" with my woman. My advice to you is to be more concerned about the probate services... :emofdr:
ozkat (VegasOZ) 26 Jul, 2014 @ 12:48pm
I bought like 6 games in the last couple of days.

My wife just left the house, seemed upset.

I found a business card on the floor near the front door: Dodge & Dodge Attorney at Law: Bankruptcy, Divorce, Probate Services.

Anyone got any idea what this may be about?

LOL
GrayGhost 21 Jul, 2014 @ 8:27am
No reds apple ale common admins lmao
Twiggy 20 Jul, 2014 @ 8:48pm
Corona? I am sorry Sir, but the Michigan Detachment has only requisitioned Blue Moon. I have summarily sacked the clerks involved and I assure you that the proper paperwork will be in your hands within a fortnight or a score.
ozkat (VegasOZ) 20 Jul, 2014 @ 8:30pm
For the record, Gents... I"m simply APPALLED at the mess in here.

Let's get those Corona bottles picked up and put into the recycle bin, shall we??

LOL
Twiggy 20 Jul, 2014 @ 8:11pm
WB Oz. This is where "a nerd", as my old lady calls me, goes to hang out. She not so cool herself. She once told me she used to be addicted to The Sims. I rest my case for the jury on that hypocrite.
GrayGhost 20 Jul, 2014 @ 5:17pm
Welcome back admin lol
