got the same problem with accessing Steam from uOttawa-WPA and my battle.net doesn't work either

Go to the CSSA group. Also if you game you should know about the uOttawa Games Club and the CSSA Lan Parties. There is also a star craft club & Dota2 / LOL group on campus.
