That was never stated, my suggestion to you is that if you desire better moderation, you visit petition.org . Create a list of demands relating to Steam's lack of anonymity and safety. Allowing group members to be protected entities who can willingly choose to trust or distrust other members - giving or withholding their identity - would be a step forward. And once your identity is granted to a person, the group is no longer responsible for what occurs between you and said person.

You are not the problem and neither am I. Steam is an insecure platform from the very foundation due to the lack of anonymity and ability to circumvent group moderation through DMs AND joining the lobbies of those who are playing multiplayer games (without having them added mind you).

Screenshots and screen captures are not evidence, they give the ability for server administrators to fact check your statements.You are entitled to accuse and any reasonable person in power is entitled to fact check your accusations.

No lot, it really isn’t a radical review as to how moderation works. If you report someone for sexual harassment on VRChat and provide Discord screenshots, the moderation team will not give the person in question consequences. They cannot verify the validity of your statements.

If you report someone for sexual harassment on FFXIV and give them Steam chat logs, they will not take action.

If you report someone for making false promises on eBay, an actual platform where money is involved. And those promises were made outside of eBay’s direct message system. They will not take action.

My statement is that Steam is not a safe platform for Transgender people period. It has nothing to do with this group. They can moderate until hell freezes over but the truth is this is a group, on a platform, owned by Valve. The moderators have limited control over what can be done.

This isn't an attack directed at you.

User reports and chatlogs can be falsified. Nothing stated can be truly fact-checked without access to Valve's servers (assuming you met a chaser here).

I can easily create ten alt-accounts and puppeteer false statements on each of them, stating "I had a bad experience with X, Y, or Z person too"

This is why most Discord servers encourage users to speak ONLY on the server itself, where messages can be vetted by moderators.

yeah i've just read the discourse and the ''i know it's bad but we can't do much about it'' mentality it's the worst you can go off about this type of things. like what they recently said, chasers are BAD no matter what and whether they're a small issue or a bigger one on each trans-related group/space it's STILL a problem worth working on solving.

(2/2)Narcissists that will happily lead you on and soak up every droplet of attention you give them. Transgender or not - but transgender especially since we tend to be one of the more lonely subsets of people.

Chasers, like you mentioned, but that circles around to statement 2 - lonely straight males see a feminine looking profile and neurons start firing. God forbid you actually have interest in them yourself, the pain of being abruptly abandoned isn't something you tend to grow accustomed to.

I'm not a moderator but please try not to argue with other transgender people. It's better to work together as there's enough going against us as-is. Majority of the world does not like us and the stereotype surrounding us isn't going to truly leave for at least another decade or two.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't be hasty to blame the moderators or administrator(s). It's just how it is everywhere, the quality of people in the world has lowered significantly over the last decade. Common decency barely even exists any longer unless you're in safe-havens.

Actual gang-stalking groups on this platform that laser-focus transgender people - gaslighting them into self-harm or taking advantage of their status as a minority to isolate them even further.

Lonely, straight males, that are all too happy to grow close with you until the friendship evolves and reaches the point of voice chatting. In which you're ghosted because their expectations don't meet reality for one reason or another.

makes the supposed "safe space" feel much less safe (if not outright unsafe) + ruins any discussion, ignoring doesn't really work in this situation.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make, could you rephrase it in a way that's easier to understand? To me, it's a rule of thumb that if you interact with lgtbqia+ groups you'll eventually become a target of chasers and or transphobes. This goes for irl and online atleast in my experience. And its not just this group in particular, it's almost every steam group for queer people. If i've been in the 'wrong' places, then what would you say are the 'right' places?

Whether we like it or not there's always going to be transphobes in groups like this. I don't see how thats confusing to understand as it's always been like that. It sucks, but the mods dont care so there's not much we can do about it other than ignore those people who invade safe places like this one
