The year isn't over yet!
15 Dec, 2020 @ 6:58pm
Man, what a year...
24 Apr, 2020 @ 4:33am
Nice. I'm working on Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which I'm almost done, and before that I finished Mortal Kombat X.
21 Apr, 2020 @ 7:23pm
I also got furloughed about 2 weeks ago. Right now I'm looking for a new job and in the meantime I'm playing through all my unplayed Resident Evil games on the Xbox One. I 100% Resident Evil 3 Remake last week and also finished Resident Evil 4 on Professional Mode. Now I'm working through Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and Resident Evil Revelations.
25 Mar, 2020 @ 7:38am
So, what's everyone here doing during this lovely self isolation?

I got temporarily laid off Friday so I'm slowly working on my gaming backlog. I finally finished RE2 Remake, just need to finish the extras. I think I'm almost done Borderlands 3, then onto either Mortal Kombat XL or Wolfenstein New Colossus while continuing to work on unlocking characters in Smash Ultimate.
7 Dec, 2019 @ 2:30pm
Hmmm very odd indeed. Time for another comeback!
17 Nov, 2019 @ 10:18am
Yeah but it looks like it's a weird shell version that might have been restored from an old backup or something. None of the links really work that well other than one and none of the actual content seems to be there.

Also the messageboard is back as well...kinda. You can go to https://www.thegameheroes.com/phpBB3 but you can't click on anything or log in. And it also looks like it was restored from an old backup. Because we were still posting into the summer and the site didn't die until around August 2017. But the oldest posts on the restored message board are from early 2016.

Earlier this year the domain had expired. I wonder if someone besides Tom bought it and are trying to sort of bring it back and are piecing together a version of the site from old cached versions or something. I know Tom had said the person that did the site no longer had the original code or something and that's why it never officially moved out of "beta".
16 Nov, 2019 @ 10:12am
Seems you are correct. The site has somewhat been resurrected.
7 Nov, 2019 @ 8:00am
Wait...if you go to www.thegameheroes.com , it looks like the site is back....kinda. Is Tom or someone else trying to make a comeback?
7 Nov, 2019 @ 7:51am
Well it's been a while.

Anyway, I'm playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and Gear 5.
6 Apr, 2019 @ 9:50am
I haven't been on my computer as much so I haven't been on steam to check this group. Started a new job a little under a year ago and am working 50 hour weeks mostly.

Oh, and my wife got me a Switch so I've been playing the hell out of Zelda.
5 Apr, 2019 @ 9:55pm
Damn, forgot about this place. Saw the bookmark and decided to drop in. I see I've not missed anything.

I always remember around this time in 2008 is when TGH started. And talk about time flying, it's been almost 2 years I think since the site finally died for good. If I remember right the site went away and I think the forums lasted through the summer then died. Curiously I decided to see if the URL was still dead and now when I go there the GoDaddy page says the URL expired last month and is pending renewal or deletion. I guess Tom is finally letting it die all the way.
4 Dec, 2018 @ 10:31am
Ah well, Calgary wasn't likely to lose a 3rd Grey Cup game in a row.
27 Nov, 2018 @ 5:02pm
They went all right... they went and lost......
21 Nov, 2018 @ 7:46am
Go Redblacks!
11 Aug, 2018 @ 7:06am
Finally beat the Witcher 3 on ps4 2 years after borrowing it off a buddy. Makes me wish for a lot more branching story RPGs.

Now onto Shadow of the Colossus remastered.
29 Jul, 2018 @ 10:57am
Waiting for the fall games, so I picked up Kid Icarus Uprising for cheap for the 3DS. It's ok, not great, but I only paid $8 for it so I'll take it. Given Nintendo is winding down support for the 3DS and starting to focus solely on the Switch, that possibly will be the last 3DS game I purchase.
7 Jul, 2018 @ 5:37pm
I finished Outlast 2. It was.....interesting.
2 Jul, 2018 @ 4:17pm
Got a new job and my gaming has been cut back a lot. Work anywhere from 9 to 13 hours a day depending on shipments. Lots of hours and OT which is good to get my bank account back in order, but my old company might be sold off very soon and they might bring me back. I'd prefer that a lot more, but a job's a job.
28 Jun, 2018 @ 3:52pm
Been a while since I posted. Since then I've 100% God of War, Life is Strange, LIfe is Strange: Before the Storm, Never Alone, Gone Home, Ether One, and I finished but did not 100% The Unfinished Swan, all on PS4.

I now am moving on to Outlast 2 on Xbox One, and after that I guess I'll dig into some random backlog I have.
24 May, 2018 @ 5:12pm
Yeah, not sure how DLC would work. I think they should focus on the sequel.

Well Dark Souls remastered comes out tomorrow. Am I a sucker and getting it?... Well we all know the answer to that...
22 May, 2018 @ 7:32am
Yeah the only one I really had a problem with was the freakin Valkyrie Queen. It took me a good 50 times to beat her and the last time I finally started to be able to time her moves. Even the Trials one I found to be relatively easy.

I'm torn on DLC; on one hand I'm satisfied with 100% the game, but on the other I enjoyed it so much I'd like some more and in a way it seemed short even though I'm sure I put 50 hours into it total.
14 May, 2018 @ 7:44pm
It's a really easy platinum. The only things that are annoying are some of the collectibles.
12 May, 2018 @ 6:38pm
I finished the main story of God of War. I wondered how they were going to tie in the old Kratos with the "new" Kratos and thought they did a good job. Since I don't have anything else pressing to play, I'm going to go for Platinum, which I normally don't do.
11 May, 2018 @ 2:16pm
I'm fine with any of the 4 remaining teams winning. So happy those arctic chickens lost and won't be able to do a three-peat. Hoping for the Jets the most though.
10 May, 2018 @ 9:18pm
Wow....apparently the President's Cup is completely useless. I'm usually high on the Predators, but right now I've never been more disappointed in a team in my life. We force Game 7, at OUR house and we don't show up at all? Hell the Jets completely kicked our asses in Nashville. I'm baffled as to how we played this badly at home. Unreal.

I'm for the Jets or Capitals, or even the Lightning. To hell with the Knights, who were almost handed a Stanley Cup Finals appearance. There's no way I'm rooting for them.
8 May, 2018 @ 12:12pm
Apparently I have to breake this into 2 messages because ♥♥♥♥ steam:

3) While the valkyrie fights were awesome and super hard (I was an idiot and fought a comple around level 5/6... don't do that unless you enjoy pain) I think there needed to be more secret bosses in those hidden areas besides trolls or ancients.

But overall fantastic game. Not the 10 out of 10 everyone and their uncle says as I stated above, but better than 99.9% of the ♥♥♥♥ most publishers spew out.
8 May, 2018 @ 12:11pm
Continuing my trend of getting all PS4 trophies in the games I've been playing lately (Batman Enemy Within and Bloodborne) I platinumed the new God of War today. Overall great game, but it did have some flaws:

1) Lack of bosses. They recycle the same troll boss fight like 10 times in the game. In the main story I think there were what, maybe 3 or 4 different bosses (combining the troll and Baldur fights as one each). For a series known fo crazy boss fights that was a let down.

2) Too many silly collectibles. ♥♥♥♥ those ravens, artifacts and buried treasures. Outside of needing them for trophies by the end of the game they're completely pointless. I had so much spare XP and money by the end that they were rendered comepletely useless and some where just a pain to find.
30 Apr, 2018 @ 8:19am
I just finished Assassin's Creed Origins; actually 100% it. Good game, sometimes great, but the series still have too many technical problems.

Now on to God of War.
27 Apr, 2018 @ 2:44pm
So..... the new God of War is freakin amazing. I'm getting so lost in it... We really need more games like it.
16 Apr, 2018 @ 7:03am
I'm playing AC Origins and it's pretty good, but Friday my copy of God of War arrives and I'll probably pause Origins and jump into GOW.
14 Apr, 2018 @ 6:05pm
Yeah, I took note of that too... Hmmm...

Well, finally finished the Bloodborne expansion and have officially 100% the whole game. Took me two character builds. ♥♥♥♥ I love that game

Next week, the new God of War which is getting out of this world reviews.
10 Apr, 2018 @ 8:06pm
Also 8-Bit Mickey is "back"...well he streams on Twitch a good bit. It's fun to interact with him and ask him questions about the old days.

The only part that stood out to me about HT's interview was the short part about Cameraman Joe. He said he's no longer in the pizza business, he's "single again" , and went back to school. Sounds like a lot has gone on in his life
10 Apr, 2018 @ 5:07pm
I was going to mention that. It was a great listen.
10 Apr, 2018 @ 12:50pm
BTW, Handsome Tom was on The Prototype with Mike this past week. It was great hearing from him.

10 Apr, 2018 @ 10:30am
Finished The Evil Within 2, and got all but 3 achievements.
3 Apr, 2018 @ 2:15pm
I want to see that. Might go next weekend or Sunday.

I also beat Firewatch. It was ok, but I think it was a bit overhyped. Started co-oping Bloodborne with a buddy. I created a new character to play with him and make the expansion... well, beatable.
1 Apr, 2018 @ 1:43pm
Just saw Ready Player One. Fun movie.
29 Mar, 2018 @ 8:22am
Finally got back into The Evil Within 2.
20 Mar, 2018 @ 7:57am
I remember I never liked High School Ben, he was a little d-bag. When Tom and Liz left, he posted in the forums that people miss Liz just because she was "pretty to look at and that's about it", saying she was just a token female who was just good for eye candy. I responded to him and went off and it was quickly deleted.
19 Mar, 2018 @ 5:33pm
I was done after Tom and the gang left. Couldn't stand the site.
19 Mar, 2018 @ 9:29am
To be fair, I have some good memories of SA but obviously almost all of them are pre-TGH when Tom was still there. I did enjoy some of the post Tom stuff like some of the shows they tried to do. Nametags with Jared I hated at first but ended up liking it, and they had the Life in a Game show that was pretty good though it honestly kind of lost its luster by the end. It seemed like they had a good idea for a show but really didn't have a good story and ending fleshed out. But after that SA lost its soul and became a cookie cutter video game site.
19 Mar, 2018 @ 9:29am
The only time I think of them is when I'm thinking about the old days of TGH and the early days of the "rivalry". I'm not sure I've been to their site in 5 years, other than a quick look to see if it still exists. I do know it was sold to Rooster Teeth or something like that and Craig and the redhead guy left to form a spinoff site called GameAttack, which looks like pretty much the exact same thing, and somehow I think it has a connection to GameStop because about a year ago I was in a GS and on their crappy in store channel Craig was on it being interviewed.
17 Mar, 2018 @ 9:32am
Funny thing is I haven't evn thought of SA in probably the past 5 years.
16 Mar, 2018 @ 8:08am
Man, it was 10 years ago about a week ago that Tom, Liz, Mickey, and Joe all left ScrewAttack. Crazy.
11 Mar, 2018 @ 4:58pm
Beat RE7. Really enjoyed it. Booted up my 360 for the first time in a year. Had the urge to play Red Dead Redemption, so I did that all last night. Still an amazing game and the graphics hold up 8 years later.
5 Mar, 2018 @ 7:48am
Finished Metroid: Samus Returns. I liked it. Now back to The Evil Within 2.
19 Feb, 2018 @ 5:09pm
I started posting there too.
19 Feb, 2018 @ 4:28pm
Holy crap, looks like my random posting might have awakened the beast a bit.
