There will be a Highlander PUG taking place on the System Restore server this friday. For more information on the event please check the Upcoming Events section of the group. Where to sign up and times will be available there as well as additional information.

Im sure some of you are wondering whats been going on, so I'm here to fill you guys in. There has been some changes in the group. Some of the Admins have steped down due to some personal reasons. Though they still wish us the best as our group grows. As for the server, the name has been changed since ownership has been changed. The server is now:

Don't worry, the server is still very much the same. All the admin are still there, and all previous donars have also transferred. This is the same with all the custom plugins that were there previously, and ranks are still the same. Its the same server but with a different name. As for the name of the group, it will be changed acordingly once I get a chance to speak with the other admins of the group. Or there may be no changes.

Oh hey, Ammers here. I’m late posting The Weekly Report because I was busy and whatnot earlier this week. Curse having a life!


----This Week on Autumn Effect----

-Karaoke Night!-
Finally, the much talked about Karaoke Night is rumored to be happening tomorrow during the regularly scheduled All-talk Night. Make sure you do your tra-la-la’s and do-re-me’s to warm up your singing voice.

-Custom Map of the Week-
cp_desperados, I am glad to announce, has been added permanently to the nomination list due to positive ratings. Unfortunately, we don’t really have a new map of the week yet, but one will hopefully be added soon. Don’t worry! Just blame the Canadians.

-Highlander PUG-
Tuesday this week was the server’s second Highlander PUG, and it was even better than the first. We played cp_dustbowlnightlife, pl_goldrush and cp_gravelpit, each round with different captain for the teams. Much hilarity was to be had, as was much Rick rollin’ for a few rounds.

-Vanilla TF2 Night-
For those of you who don’t know, Vanilla TF2 refers to the way TF2 was before all of the class updates came out, so there has been a discussion on the forum about perhaps introducing a Vanilla theme night where everyone is constrained to using the original weapons only. Kickin’ it old school, man, y’know?

-Le Admin’s Birthday-
Last Thursday was emuzombie’s birthday. The old man threw a party on All-talk night with bunches of random party favors dropping at any given time. It was all sorts of fun to see people running around with traffic cones affixed to their heads, or to have your screen shaken by “earthquake pills”, upsetting the aim of everyone around you as well. Some even made you invisible or gave you scout speed with flames flying from your feet.

-Donators’ Hats-
With the release of the new custom hats made by TF2 users, they are now also available in the hat menu to all AE donators to wear on any class. Pimp hat on a pyro? Sure! Surgical mask for the spy? Why not? Be creative! Go for it!


----Ammers’ AEF Announcements----

-Player of the Week-
The new PotW is Seanathan, for being generally hilarious and awesome. Stop backstabbing me, dammit! I also want to see way more nominations to choose from next time, folks.

-TF2 Lobby 6 vs 6 PUG-
Next Sunday (the 28th), The AE Fangroup will be hosting a 6 vs 6 pickup game session at 5pm EST, so make sure to register on TF2lobby.com if you would like to participate. Sides for 6 vs 6 generally consist of two scouts, two soldiers, a demoman, and a medic.

-Kill Notification Generator-
Thank you to sigafoo <3 for discovering this nifty little site: http://www.mzzt.net/tf2/
It allows you to create your own kill notifications like the “(person A) >>>---- > (person B)” things that appear at the top right of your screen in game. Yeah, those. These custom ones which you can create via the site are very amusing and make for good forum signatures.

----This Week on Autumn Effect----

-After-round Prophunt-
In a sound tactical decision, our illustrious server admin, æ.emuzombie, has implemented a plug-in which turns the losing team into (gasp) props! So, not only will you be defenseless when you lose, you will also look like one of any number of map props, such as “cluster of shrubs”, “weather vane” and “hand truck”. If you have played on any prophunt servers before, you know that there is nothing more entertaining than watching a flaming hay bale go double jumping past your line of sight, screaming frantically for a medic. This small taste of prophunt nonsensical fun has been very well received by the regulars.

-Off-map Mondays-
Those who frequent the Autumn Effect forum will no doubt be aware that there is a new “special” night in the works called Off-map Monday. On this night, all of the most played maps will be removed from the nomination list, leaving those less played ones for everyone to have fun with, like cp_gravelpit, plr_pipeline, ctf_2fort and various other capture the flag and arena maps. Huzzah for variety!

-Highlander PUG-
The AE server hosted its first Highlander pick-up game on Saturday night, which, once everyone whom had signed up on the forum finally showed themselves, became a very intense and satisfying skirmish. It began with everyone joining team Spectator, like kids lining up against a wall to be picked for a dodgeball game, and then the team leaders, æ.emuzombie and æ.ozzyovenmitts, began taking turns choosing their team mates. Everyone then squabbled over their class choices, only one of each being allowed. Two matches each of cp_dustbowl, ctf_snowdrift and pl_goldrush were played, Team Ozzy coming out on top. It was the pinnacle of the teamwork, communication and entertaining social interaction which the Autumn Effect community is based upon, and we hope this may turn into a regularly scheduled event.

-Custom Map of the Week-
The custom map of the week was cp_desperados. This is probably one of the most unique maps you will ever see. Taking place in a desert setting, an old western adobe town is built into some sandstone mountain cliffs and the RED team must thwart the BLU team’s efforts to overtake the town. A pure uphill climb for the BLU baddies, there are three capture points which must be taken in sequence from A to C. The few complaints about cp_desperados claim that the map turns into a sniper fest very quickly (something easily avoided by dodging and backstabbing), and that the uphill nature of it is somewhat irritating. Try it for yourself and cast your vote.

-Player of the Week-
Our first player of the week is Wander! He has been a big help in the formation of this group and I owe him a huge thank you. (Anyone may nominate a PotW on the AEF’s main page. However, you may not nominate yourself. Who’s ego is that big anyway, eh?)

-The AEF Chat Lounge-
Like all Steam community groups, the AEF has a chat room. It is available for anyone to use at any time, and you may invite friends in as well. Use it all you want for socializing, plotting mutiny, etc. If you see anyone in the chat room, jump on in. All are welcome.

-Group Invites-
Speaking of which, the AEF extends its welcome mat to all. Please feel free to invite any friends or acquaintances into the group whom you feel would love to be a part of our community. Did you meet someone new on the server that you thought was a good player or was fun to talk to? Invite them! It could help ensure that they come back time and time again for some good old Autumn Effect fun.
