Dev Update 1

Currently we are in the process of rebuilding code for the Quake III engine to fit the mod. We are able to test our current progress in Multiplayer on a server that can max out to around 80+ players. The load times between maps is about 10-15 seconds, and server reset time is about the same. (If servers reset, you won't have to wait 15-20 minutes for the to reset. The longest estimated duration for a server reset would probably be around 30 seconds)
The engine is very optimized and it performs quite well, even after adding textures and models well beyond what the engine was origionally designed to handle.
Maps can vary in size, being small or large. Map size seems to have no impact on server/client performance.

The biggest emphasis we have from a developmental standpoint is high performance, quick load time, and graphics that can be configured on high/low end pc's to fit the users needs. Having a game that can be easily ran on lower end PC's means about anyone can play, while having more optional graphic settings for users with more advanced PC's.

Basically, we're trying to make a free, fully featured "game" that anyone can play. At no point will anyone be required to pay for anything. The models, emphasis on high quality, realistic sound simulation, nor realism based teamwork gameplay will never be something we ask of anyone to pay for.

We want a great experience for everyone, regardless.

Here are some early WIP pictures from the last few months

http://imgur.com/a/98p1V

Feedback is accepted and appreciated.

-EpicBobRoss
