I used to go by Sinister or Krimena back then.

I remember being on this server when I was like in 7th-8th grade (2018). I'm now a Junior in College. I'm pretty sure my username back then was either bigpapasnke or zupr3. I haven't seriously touched the game in a couple of years now. I hope everyone's doing great.

i launched an extremely primitive server running TFS Redux and the old tfs_flatgrass_beta_fix map. it's running on the IP wired.kiwi:27016 and more info can be found in the link from the previous comment. it's not my main focus at the moment but since it took like 15 minutes to get setup i figured why not

a follow-up to what i commented before:
regarding the trading server i've been working on recently that runs NGS's map, it is now up and running (although still a work-in-progress)

once i have mostly everything i want developed and setup on the server, i'll try doing a grand opening event. at the moment, it has a custom made !items plugin as well as an updated !pc plugin that can query backpacktf sell/buy order listings
after i tune that server, i was thinking of launching a sandbox server running the tfs_flatgrass map as well as an ode to SuN

i am focusing on NGS for now though because 1. i can get that running much faster with the map i already have plus i would not have to build up every core plugin system from scratch like i would have to with sun (though i would enjoy doing that) and 2. i have more people interested in that than in sun right now

my true dream goal though is to have both servers running side-by-side and interact with each other. NGS would be more focused on trading while sun would be more focused on events, ARGs, and the sandbox and map. you would be able to earn cash/credits in both servers and have a shared inventory system with stuff like beacons in both. that is down the road though

if you do wish to play on suncity though, there is someone currently hosting it. you can find it on the server browser

for context i got back into tf2 server development/management via a large community this year. i dont quite agree with their owner's actions/decisionmaking so i'm planning on pursuing my own projects again.

im currently looking to bring back another old trade server that vanished over the last few years (NGS). i have quite a few people interested, so ive been cooking up some plugins/backend management/features that can allow that server to rival current top trade servers like skial/ugc.

as for sun, if i ever bring this project back i would like to start from a completely blank slate. i have a vision for how i want the map and server to be designed, and how i can incorporate unique and interesting elements that put the suncity vers. of sun to shame.

is this group still active?

Given the abject lack of updates for any future of the former SuN community, the deadness of any revival attempts, and the silence to any of my questions asked of former SuN admins, Trade SunCity has been added to the permanent rotation of my personal TF2 server, including a working copy of the TFS plugin. Obviously I don't have any of the custom economy or shop plugins that SuN was renowned for having, but with TFS functioning, it should at least replicated that part of the experience, for those of you who remain interested.

To join the server, paste the following line into your console:
connect 173.237.54.245

Bear in mind there are plenty of other maps on the server (including trade maps, joke maps, and even some deathrun maps), but SunCity can be voted for at any time. Thanks.
