Just found this list of DRM for certain games. I guess I'd make sure to check this before you buy a game if DRMs (other then Steam) bother you.

If you still having problems with graphical lag in COD: BO, then I have possible fix that worked for me and Admiral Awesome.
-Bring up the windows task manager (Ctrl-alt-delete) while Steam is open.
-Go to the precesses tab.
-Find the steam.exe in the list and right click it.
-Find where it says set priority and then click on low.

You might have to do this everytime you start up your computer and want to play BO.
