Right, gettign the CD audio for this to run shouldn't be an issue if we can just get the format/audio names the game is expecting into a folder. Then it's just a case of adding the folder name to the dominon ini in windows. Does anyone know what the music fies should be called? The ambiance in the menu is named AMB0001.WAV.

If the other track names can be established, adding WAV files with the correct names to a folder defined in dominon.ini should get everything workking.

My attempts to get this game running on Linux even with the ISO file being mounted and Wine configured to see that location as a Disk Drive has failed. Registry entries have not influenced the outcome.

I do not believe there is a NO CD version of it out there.

Willing to make it happen.

There is perhaps but one step stopping it from launching on Linux and that is mounting the disk image like on Windows systems (with the help of Wine and a disk image mounter) to start it.

You can try to use pre-installed game files instead of traditional install. The only problem in this way will be lack of videos/intros and maybe some multiplayer issues (just in case someone will ever try it). Preinstalled files can be downloaded here:

Put this game directory somewhere like: "C:\Program Files (x86)" so the full way to the game .exe file will be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ion Storm\Dominion".
Maybe .exe will require compatibility mode to run

i also using a virtual cd and i did on the installer. It does try to launch something called _INS5176.MP which apparently is located in the root temp folder in appdata but i go there and there is nothing?

Did you tried the compatibility mode on installer? And if i remember right i used virtual CD to install the game, not the separate installer, not sure tho if this two are any different one from another...

Hey i couldn't create a discussion so i'm here, the installer from the CDs linked on the blogspot won't work, giving me an error saying they require Windows NT 4.0 with service pack 3 or higher?

You see no missions until you complete any. Try to finish first mission of any campaign and check the missions window again. The purpose of this "missions" is to replay the completed mission of campaign

Downloaded the installed version. Starts, but the problem is that the game does not see the missions. The company starts normally.

About textures in menu i never had such problems

Music in missions can play only from CD, to make your game to see soundtracks you need to mount one of virtual CD of Dominion into virtual drive, but this drive is supposed to be first in alphabet order which means if you have local disk C, D and DVD-drive E, F, G etc - you need to make virtual drive with mounted Dominion to be A or B... So will be easier to put all soundtracks in music player and repeat it on background while you playing.

Hi guys! my problem is as follows. I installed a virtual box on it will install windows xp, installed dominion, But I have two problems
1. not all textures are displayed in the main menu, it is so dark
2. For some reason, missions do not play music in missions.
Has anyone encountered a similar one?

Try "launch as administrator" on game .exe, and if not help - try another compatibility modes, with Windows XP etc, and "use resolution 640x480" on the same options page... And check if you have this NETPLAY.R32 file in the game directory, maybe your Antivirus deleted it for no reason! :O

Ok I followed you mentioned all steps, and I clicked .exe '' Interal program error Can't load plugin C: program.........\Dominion\netplay.r32 '' and I tried compatibility mode win 98 but I got no result so help :)

You not need to instal this game - you need to download a pre-installed version instead! This version contains all game files already installed so you just need to unpack it on your HDD.

i afraid there is no additional missions for dominion, only already existing in game 4 singleplayer campigns 12 missions each. In main menu there is directory "missions" which contains missions from campign you finished already...

You can look at dominion forum about it... I never tried multiplayer, but i guess people used Gameranger to play dominion - it creates virtual local net between you and another dude you planning to play with, so when you start the game you can host a multiplayer match and this dude can see and join this match like both of your PCes are connected one to another... Need someone who already played dominion's multiplayer to tell us details

Does any of you know the keybindings or where to find them? I have only discovered s for stand and c for crawl, which is really useful. It's specifically Hold Position and Recon that I'm tired of right-clicking for.

Download pre-installed Dominion version 1.2, it must be launched then without any problems...
If not - maybe will help instalation on the same HDD where windows is in the default folder, for example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Ion Storm\Dominion"
If still not working - try to use any of "compatibility mode" in "properties" of .exe file
