Status Update

I made a post on the forum, but figured I'd make an announcement here as well. As mostly everyone knows, despite a great turnout for our first event - there won't be any large organized events until the game is more stable.

There were countless connection issues, lag, and crashes. At this point the game just isn't stable enough to host a large number of players. Until that's fixed we're better off doing small MP games instead.

2v2's are still viable, maybe slightly more than that with the right host, just remember to save along the way incase the game crashes. So keep using the community and Hamachi networks to get games going as you please, hopefully we'll be able to get a large one once BG releases the neccessary patches. Stay tuned.

Thanks.

*Must Read* Settings and Rules for Aug 5th Game Operation Primus Impetus

Our finalized list of settings and rules for our upcoming game.

We'll have two rules that all players must abide by.

1 - No tech (research) trading to any human or AI players at any point in the game. You are allowed to trade unit designs (blueprints), or fabricated units as much as you desire and to anyone of your choosing. The only thing that's a no-go is tech trading.

By doing this it'll keep the game realistic, so we probably won't see small nations in a space race. However, their ability to purchase unit designs and units their selves, gives them a fair ability to defend them selves.

2 - Limit of 9 research facilities per nation. No one is permitted to have more than 9 research facilities. This will also keep the game moving at a realistic and strategic pace.

Other than that, there's nothing on the books to limit anyone's strategy.

Settings:

Resources: Standard
Initial Funds: Default
Approval Effects: High
Critical United Nations: Yes
Allow Government Change: Yes
Random Events: Low

Fog of War: Yes
Enhanced Spotting: Yes
Enhanced Ranges: Yes
Units Eliminated when Region Falls: No
Allow Nuclear Weapons: Yes
Nuclear Penalties: High

Scheduled Game End: None
Military Difficulty: Very Hard
Economic Difficulty: Very Hard
Diplomatic Difficulty: Normal
Hot Relations: Medium

Players:

(host) JayTac - United Kingdom
Golden Pole - Poland
Joccend - France
Targioni - USSR
War Surviver - North Korea
Lord Kailvin Tremere - Yugoslavia
LiKaapstad - Brazil
tyler2114 - USA
LeonTrotsky - Netherlands
Blackworth - Australia
tr4m4tiz3d - Egypt
geredis - Spain

Hamachi Network:

Network ID: Cold War MP
password: srcw
