[URGENT] NEW ORDERS: DEPLOYMENT TO ALTIS

The 3rd Infantry Division is being immediately deployed to FOB Copperhead on Altis in order to support the Altian military in repelling a major invasion by combined CSAT forces. Contact an officer for more information. Basic training for all members will be launching shortly as well.

CSM Hermanson has returned from leave and is now returning to active duty. Apologies for the inactive server, a glitch with PayPal left our invoice unpaid and as such the server was deactivated. Rest assured it will be reactivated ASAP.

Updated Ranking System

We'll be adjusting our ranking system slightly, moving from Marine Corps ranks to Army ranks. Also, since a good portion of those who were with us at first have since gone AWOl, we've given a good number of people promotions.

The new ranks, abbreviations, and duties are as follows:

Teamspeak Server Active

This announcement admittedly comes a bit late, but Side Mission Operations Command now has an official Teamspeak 3 server. Owned by CSM E. Hermanson, this allows us a freedom in communication obviously impossible to get by "server hopping."

The hostname is ts60.gameservers.com.
The port is 9189.

After several extremely frustrating weeks, and a sleepless three-night stretch by SMSC E. Hermanson, at last we have an official SiMOC server! The connection information is as follows:

Required mods are CBA 3, ACE 3, RHS USAF, ACRE 2, and the Kunduz map (which can be acquired from the Steam workshop). Keep in mind we are NOT using Task Force Radio.

Ranking System Developed; New Ranks Announced!

The ranking leadership of SiMOC is proud to present an official rank and profile name system, official 28 May 2015. Based mostly off of United States Marine Corps enlisted ranks, we hope that these new ranks will allow for a more organized unit during combat operations. The full list of ranks, with descriptions of their roles, can be found below:

Infantry
- Recruit (Rct.)
- Private (Pvt.)
- Private First Class (Pfc.)
- Lance Corporal (Lcpl.)
- Corporal (Cpl.) [Fireteam Leader]
- Sergeant (Sgt.) [Squad Leader]
- Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) [Squad or platoon leader, Drill Instructor]
- Sergeant Major (SgtMaj) [Second in Command]
- Sergeant Major of SiMOC (SMSC) [Commanding Officer]

Ranks below Corporal should be considered mostly merit-based, with promotions being given for any number of factors including but not limited to attitude, playtime, and tactical prowess. Ranks above are given to those most capable of performing the listed duties.

We've done our best to give everybody a rank we feel would be most appropriate for what we've seen, but expect a few adjustments in the coming weeks. That in mind, find everybody's starting ranks here -- we'll also be sending out individual messages.
