I would be playing on the cluster right now if Ark wasn't mysteriously downloading again and if I had better bandwidth. Currently I am at school and have to use their network and it is very slow. My connection only gives what amounts to high-level dial-up.

Hey Everyone. Wanted to let you all know that Oregon, where the server is housed, is about to get hit by what is called a Pineapple Express. Essentially a series of very strong, windy, rainy storms. All jokes aside, while it does rain a lot in Oregon, usually the rain comes in the form of light continuous rain, not heavy rains. The reason I mention this, is that they are predicting power outages. If the power goes out at my house, the power goes out for the server. So I just wanted people to be aware that if the servers all disappear, its probably a power outage, and I'll bring them back online as soon as possible.

*** SPECIAL NEWS *** Lilith/Syne has decided to stop playing ARK and therefore stop being an admin on our cluster. All her bases and dinos have been removed by her before she left or shortly thereafter. This includes the public hatchery and greenhouse she built on The Island. We wish Lilith the best with her next gaming adventure, and I personally thank her for the many hours and great Admin support she gave to our cluster.

Hey Everyone. The Thanksgiving Double Everything event is now closed. You will still be able to find wild dinos above level 150 for a while until they all get eaten or tamed or until we do a wild dino wipe. I hope everyone had a fun time!

Just a reminder, please eat any drake/wyvern eggs that you don't want (if you drop them it can bug the nests even more than they are right now) and please clear beaver dams completely, they don't respawn paste if they aren't fully cleared out. Thanks!!

The Extinction server crashed tonight around 7:10ish PM Pacific. I'm restarting it now. It will roll back to the latest save which was at 6:43pm Pacific.

I see that our friends at WildCard dropped another major version without warning on not on their scheduled day. So the servers need to be updated before you can connect if you have an updated client. I will be updating the servers as soon as I can.

Hey Everyone. Another new update dropped fixing the issue (hopefully) where whole bases were being destroyed. I did a roll back of the Extinction map ONLY back to right before I applied the first patch this morning. If you have lost anything due to the roll back, please talk to an admin.

Hey Everyone. So a new major version of ARK dropped a few hours ago, and all servers have now been updated. However, (and this is a big one) there is massive user complaints that the new version is destroying bases on the Extinction map. I'm expecting another new version to drop sooner than later, and also be prepared for the possibility of a roll back on the Extinction map.

Some of you may have noticed I have disabled the cross cluster chat. I did this for a couple reasons, but primarily that it takes what people says in (local) chat and sends it to all the other maps. I know (local) chat can't necessarily guarantee privacy because someone could come close to you without knowing it, but it definitely shouldn't broadcast that message to all other maps. Other maps are definitely not local to the person talking. Until a fix for this is made, we will not have cross cluster chat.

Hey Everyone. So Ragnarok crashed sometime after 11pm Pacific last night, but since I was asleep, I didn't know until I woke up at 8am. So its now back online. Sorry about any withdrawals you might have experienced. :)

We have cross server chat now, so that's kinda neat :)

Starting this weekend, I will be doing a weekly wild dino wipe on all 5 maps around 9pm PST Sundays. I will ask to make sure there isnt anyone taming first, but keep it in mind please. This will help with collection of boss run items and more diverse dinos

My second monitor is toast atm so I can't reply to Steam msgs. I switched my settings to one monitor but my steam chat was the only thing that didn't want to move for some odd reason. I can still see them I just can't reply to them unless I have my phone

Anyone from Dodo addiction sees this they should check their rag base. tbubba (Kevin) found a giga attacking your base. i killed it but not until it killed some of the dinos. may want to clean up and check damage. it appears it can get past the dino gates

Hey Everyone. We had a server crash today. Seem like the server bounced a few times then went completely down. Trouble started around 6pm Pacific. I'm working on bringing all the servers back online now. As always, the server will have rolled back to the last save point. So if this leaves you in a place where you are stuck let an admin know and we'll try to help.

Hey Everyone. Yeti had posted before about an event coming up. Due to several factors we will be delaying that event. Look for more information on that event soon.
Also, an update on the new server hardware. The new server came in Dead on Arrival :( So I have a new one being shipped to me. I'm hoping to get it before this long weekend (in the US) so that I can move the cluster. Part of why we are delaying the event.

When i say communications I mean all communications that your PC talks to my server :)

When you say communications, you talking about the chat interface or does that include other items as well, such as base tiles and dinos loading?

As an experiment I have changed The Island map to run in "rawsockets" mode. What this means, is that instead of using the SteamP2P protocols for communications, your game will now talk directly to the server over UDP. In "theory" it should increase performance, but with Steam developers, you never know. What I'm hoping is it will resolve the random disconnects people get as I believe many of those are caused by the Steam network going down or having a hiccup. Please let me know if you observe anything bad or good on The Island.

Hey Everyone! So I had a major network failure at my home today. As some of you may know, I have the luxury of having Fiber connection to the internet to my home, where I run the ARK cluster from. For some reason, a piece of equipment known as an ONT failed this morning, causing me to lose my connectivity. The ONT has been replaced by my internet provider, and I'm bringing back up the ARK cluster now. I had shut down the cluster so that time would not continue to tick away on the servers while I was having internet issues.
On a side note, I've gotten several reports of times where the server disconnected everyone for no reason. Those *may* have been signs that the ONT was going back. So maybe those intermittent issues will also go away! *keeping fingers crossed*

My name is Yeti and I have been chosen as the latest admin for this wonderous cluster! As my first official duty as admin, I have told NT that I am making my own event against his better judgement. Starting September 1st, there will be storage bins at the obelisks in Center, Island and Ragnarok with clues to bins and vaults full of riddles, items, BPs, and tokens!!! (spawned in fertilizer that cannot be duplicated) The tokens can be turned in at any time, and the more you have the better the prize!! Each obelisk will have the amount you need for each prize. Also, I have twisted NT's arm and threatened to despawn his yellow diplo, which does exsist and he is quite fond of, that he will be raising the quality of both beacon and fishing loot drop rates!!!!! This awesome event will start at 3AM PST September 1st and ends 3AM PST September 10th.

The Island map crashed around 4am pacific today. As always, it will roll back to the last save (up to 30 minutes). I'm bringing it back up now should be available in just a few minutes.

The Ragnarok map crashed around 7pm today. Depending on long the last wave was before that, it will roll back up to 30 minutes. Please see an admin if there is any issues you can't solve on your own.

Good Afternoon Everyone. Wanted to give everyone an update on the cluster in general. On Monday I received the new server hardware. The new hardware is quite an upgrade from the current hardware. I'll be working on getting that all prepared for use this coming weekend hopefully. Then we will end up some some down time as I move the cluster nodes from the existing hardware to the new hardware. But I'll make sure to let everyone know when that will be.

Hey Everyone. At 2:55pm the server that runs the ARK cluster crashed hard. Luckily I was home so I noticed it pretty quickly and cold booted it. Everything is coming back up now. But for anybody that was on there will be a rollback to the last save point.
