I hope this is not duplicate but I was saying go to music store and ask to see what guitars you can afford. Remove anything that might scratch them. Explain to him you have been advised to check out the feel of each guitar prior to putting money towards one and you will be careful and get him when you are done. Take one guitar at a time carefully, sit down with it, feel the neck and how it feels in your hand. Each neck can feel different. Some are wide, flat, curved, fat, thin, frets closer together or further apart as well as bigger and smaller. Start with a fender, strat Squire is a good inexpensive beginner guitar and can be tweaked into a very well playing sounding guitar later. Then try a Gibson, Those 2 are going to be just about as different and most cost effective to feel at first. Your hands and how they can reach and get around neck comfortably is good.

Haven't played much RS in a while now. FOund it very frustrating that it isn't easy to rewind 5 sec when going through a lesson. If there is a part I missed I would have to play the whole song agan to get to that point.

2The Hype, I've learn several songs completely with Rocksmith 2014. Without tabs and scores. And will learn more :)

@The Hype. 2 that i know completely without tab. another 3 i have over 100% consistently on but haven't memorised. In total I'm at 5 songs i can play working on my 6th. Have lots of half done songs like a lot of people.

Anyone having trouble with the palm muting section? Way more difficult than some of the other sections.

Hey people! Anyone else having the problem of guitar amp going clean after playing a song or so?! My ps3 version never done that, but my pic version is bugging me with this happening very often. I can say it happens 80% of the times I played the game on my lap top. (msi gt627, Windows 7)

BEST GAME I HAVE! I've been slowly learning guitar but since I got the first rocksmith I have improved greatly. I also use 'songs to see' for trumpet and I'm thinking of buying a Cello again?

I love this game!!! I always wanted to play the guitar, funny thing is when I could afford one I became grown with responsibilities and not much free time. lol I owned my guitar for a couple of years.This game is perfect for me, I get all the interaction I need without having to make time for lessons around a teachers schedule. I work hard and play even harder!! Every night after work I get settled in and practice. It's been a few months now and I'm getting good, all i knew was tunning and a few strum chords. Not only has my chord knloledge grown , I also picked up alot of other skills.There are times I just feel the music and I barely look at the screen. New songs are easy to pick up and it's like with every song I learn new tricks.. Now I find myself playing on my amp and new acoustic and it actually sounds like music, playing songs or just messing around. ;) Thanx to rocksmith My love for music has gone to a whole new level. Keep up the good work and keep those new songs coming. :)

Wish this game was around when I was younger. I would have stuck with the guitar and been a god by now!

Just bought the game today!! And this is my first time using steam..
I was so frustrated when steam started downloading the entire game although I already had the disk! But, thanks to the internet, I managed to come up with a solution!! Now, I'm just gonna rock through!!

hey everyone my ability to pick up new songs has vastly improved - getting to notes on the fretboard and staying with tempo -- etc.
something to consider though is to get a splitter box so you can hear yourself play via a guitar amp. the dynamics and touch are crucial to playing.

I know I had some download issues at first I rebooted entire systemand corrected most issues, I haven't had issues of downloads except some appear to be for game systems versus PC

Redhawk You can only buy DLC released after the 2014 version (see the list on the RS 2014 store page). There's a lot of DLC for the original game you can't purchase from Steam unless you own the original. The developers say they're working with Steam to try to fix that, but there's no word on when that will happen.

i couldnt start a new thread to ask so i ask here: i wanted to buy several songs for rocksmith 2014, but it says i cannot buy it because i need to have the original rocksmith. does that mean i actually have to buy an entire other expencive game just to get all of the songs i want for rocksmith 2014?? and if so. WHYY?

Thanks split it worked, my doubts about the dlc came from steam offering only Rocksmith dlc on sale and not Rocksmith2014 dlc. Did anyone try using custom songs?

Thanks Adams - yeah I had heared that it was a no go - HARSH! Still it's a great game now they've fixed all the UI issues from the 1st one. I think the songs are better on the first release so I'll probably just buy it again on Mac format. It would have been nice if the developers had cared about their existing customers, especially since the 1st game was so flawed. Also it would have been very nice if they'd put as little more thought into explaining some of the options and features of the new version - The 'manual' included with the 2014 release is a joke.

Martin, I have the exact same scenerio and I don't think you'll be able to get your previous DLC's onto Steam for Mac. The Disc Import tool only works if you have the DLC's on Steam. At least, as far as I can tell.

Hi - I have the original Rocksmith on PS3 format - can I access the tracks from the PS3 disc for use on Rocksmith 2014 which I now own on MAC format? Also can I access the DLC that I paid for through Playstation Store?

Yes Yathoom the DLC from original Rocksmith will show up in RS2014 but you have to buy the import tool to get the non-DLC original Rocksmith songs in RS2014 (not including a few with licensing issues).

Guys I have a question about the dlc from old version of Rocksmith, will I get them free and working on the new Rocksmith 2014?
