Greetings friends

TLDR version: It's coming in under 2 weeks, be ready! Prep computer, prep space, prep your mind!

We're closing on the home-stretch! I have your email because you signed up on the form on the admin list. Please drop me a final yay-or-nay RSVP to this email so I can finalize planning numbers (figuring out power delivery, network ports, and food plans need solid numbers!)

Important stuff:
Friday July 25, 2014.
Load in: any time before 6pm
Play: any time after 6pm until as late as we want.

Steam group: Protospace

Games: So far we have strongest favour for:
Counterstrike GO
Left 4 Dead 2
Payday 2
Garry's Mod (the hidden, trouble in terrorist town, and prop hunt) prerequisite Counter Strike Source
This list is not final or exhaustive but it's virtually certain these games will come up. Please have games (legit copies) installed and up to date before bringing in your computer to save a pile of set-up time. If not prepared, show up early to download the necessary updates! Also, if first-installing, also run the game and make sure your settings are reasonable and first-time runtime installs are complete. They can really take a while on some machines.

To keep it interesting we will be rotating games every couple hours. Some games we can all play, some we will need to break into smaller groups. We'll approach that when the time comes. A little bird told me there MIGHT be prizes, again that's still tbd. If a particular game doesn't appeal to you please at least give it a shot. Don't hide in the corner and play WoW...it will make everyone sad!

Packing checklist:
Computer/Laptop
Monitor
Wallet/cash/ID for drinks/pizza
Something to sleep on if you are drinking.*1
Deodorant. It's not a big room and it's a dozen adults.
Peripherals:
Keyboard
Mouse
Headphones/microphone (no speakers!)
Network patch cable, 6-20 feet is a good idea. We can make more day-of, but again it takes up valuable game time.
Mouse Pad (painted desk = glossy)
Power Bar with surge suppressor - we are running 12-16 computers on circuits that may coincidentally run with power tools in the bay. Protect your equipment! Neither I nor Protospace are responsible if your computer rides the lightning for shitty planning.

*1 If you try to drink and drive I'll personally wood-chipper you and your computer, then laser engrave a tombstone in the shape of a phallus, then email your mom with the pictures I found on your hard drive. :)

Does anyone need a ride? Can anyone provide a ride? I'm driving in from (East Central) with a fairly-full car.
