Press the tilde (AKA the squiggly, the closing single apostrophe key) to open up the consle. Type "connect," spacebar, then type the IP adress of the server.

Steelers, try lowering the graphical extras from the advanced options tab on TF2 to as low as they can go. That will kill any lag you have, unless your computer is worse then mine.
