Disable useless stuff, get higher performance.

On the windows you open like firefox, and when you are searching your C drive, you see things like transparency and other things that make SEARCH WINDOWS look cool, with awesome performance sapping features like, background images for folder types, drop shadows, translucent selections, fade out, fade in, all that crap. the only thing that does is make the things you dont even focus on look pretty. You can get a decent boost and quicker startup time by disabling them. Lets look at how to do that. (This does not affect how good the in game graphics are, it actually creates less lag because theres more memory available to use.)

Tutorial:
Go to the bottom left corner your desktop to find the start menu. Click on that and go to control panel, system and maintenance, system. you will most likely see "view basic information on your computer. to the left of that is tasks, under it you will see device manager, remote settings etc. look for "Advanced System Settings" Click on that and you will see a window pop up called performance options. You should be on the visual effects tab of the window. click the bottom circle near the top of the screen and uncheck EVERYTHING except: Smooth edges of screen fonts, and Smooth Scroll list boxes. After doing this, go to the bottom and click apply. After a moment, the windows open and the bottom bar at your screen will look like it did in the days of windows 95. Your game's looks however, are unchanged by this, the only thing we did was disable unneeded visual effects that we don't look at, much less need. This can generate a HUGE difference in relatively old computers, as well as a noteable difference in new ones, like mine.

If you have any questions, please send me a message on steam and I will walk you through it.

More Tutorials coming soon!
