Today I decided to release the campaign development files. You can see the maps out in hammer and other content from files to learn out things or just to see for fun.

I released significant update to the campaign few months ago. Fixes numerous issues and improves things. If you have subscribed in the L4D2 workshop for Open Road, you have it.

Another thing that i made recently was a trailer for the campaign. It contains previously unused music that was made for Open Road campaign exclusively. Check it out

I'm planning of releasing some sort of making of material from the campaign creation. I have snapshots saved from each stage of development so i can easily patch something up from those.

This will be mainly for educational purposes. I'll propably show off some comparison shots about how things have changed along the way, talk about something boring or interesting. Something like that. Perhaps even include couple of hammer vmf source files from some of the maps.

When i have extra time, i'll patch something up from the material that i have.

Thats right, on 8th of May 2011 (yesterday) i released an update to this campaign. It will fix the known issues and bugs and improves navigation.

This will be a bugfix update. I think i have located with the help of player called slantyr ( thanks!) the finale bug that causes lag during single/localhost games. So, that will be hopefully fixed this time. Also couple of more nav-related issues are being worked on among other slight fixes. I also optimized the filesize even more as i could so campaign (vpk size) on next release will be smaller than the 1.1 update was (98,5 MB to 97,4 MB)

So basically after this bugfix update is done, i think this campaign it is where it should be and i will move along to new projects. I will keep maintaining support for this campaign in the future too but i have currently no new plans for it. I wish to thank everyone who has been playing this, giving feedback and more importantly, reporting bugs in order for me to fix these things up.

Valve is planning to host custom campaigns (official announcement will arrive soon) on their official gameservers and on their web servers for people to download from. Currently the featured campaings are listed already on L4D.com with download links but also some other custom campaigns will be showing up there later. I will also contact the Valve person who is handing the things and trying to get mine into the list too. Basically the chances are 1000:1 or something like that as i'm kind of being very critical towards their games and how they should be improved. though for a good reason. I'm assuming that the answer is no. We'll see...
