Valve release creates issue for the in-console menu

In the CSGO Release Notes for 8/3/2016, valve states they have made "Misc security improvements."

They no longer allow lengthy config files to be run while connected to a server. They will allow them to be run while unconnected. They also disallowed ALL echo commands from being populated from config files. This affects the ocean6autoexec in-console menu from populating

I've contacted csgoteamfeedback@valvesoftware.com about this - please e-mail them asking them to re-allow the echo command from config files.

Also started a reddit thread about this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/4w1hkx/new_update_bad_news_for_people_with_big_autoexec/

Updated Version: July 17th, 2016

-Added the alias 'showpene' or 'showpenetration' which toggles the mode that allows you to see bullet impacts, bullet penetration, damage of each of them, and where the bullet STOPS

-Added MOTD to toggle the "message of the day" disable command. ESEA, FaceIT, & CEVO users often need the MOTD to be enabled.

-Added warmup command for the bot warmup map aim_botz (available through the steam workshop if you don't have it)

-Added xhmap command for the crosshair customizer map xhair_v2 (available through the steam workshop if you don't have it)
-Changed all crosshair commands that started with 'ch' to 'xh... New commands are as follows: xhblue, xhgreen, xhpink, xhlist, xhmap, xhsettings

-Fixed minor bugs

-Fixed bug with 'grenthick' where it wouldn't toggle

-Cleaned up the autoexec menu in console by shortening some descriptions that made the menu sloppy for lower resolution users

-In my personal binds section I listed out every bindable key on the keyboard & mouse. I recommend you do this for your config personally. It will aid in finding bindable keys

-In my personal binds section I added an alias called 'vm' & 'vm1920' that allows me to quickly toggle between fullscreen & fullscreen-windowed mode, which allows me to fix the black textures issue that occurs on cache. Also, I play in fullscreen for brightness reasons; but, fullscreen-windowed allows me to watch videos while testing things out on my own server and alt-tab quicker... If you want to try it out, just steal it and customize it to the resolution that you use. This will stay in the the personal section of the autoexec and not become an official feature.

-In my personal binds section I added an alias for "lan" which would allow me to connect other (virtual machine) clients on my LAN to connect to my server without having to mash in the IP address every time. This will stay in the the personal section of the autoexec and not become an official feature.

-In my personal binds section I changed my cl_crosshair_sniper_width to 3, which is amazeballs.

New Version (May 3rd, 2015) with New Features

The nicest feature is the +bombfind / bombfindmode aliases... Turn it on when the bomb is planted... It will tell you whether or not you're on the wrong site, and when you're coming up on the site, it will show an icon showing you where the bomb is planted. This is not a cheat; it is built in to the game itself, and we'll take full advantage of it :)

Added +bombfind alias (press+hold to find bomb easier)

Added +radarbombfind alias (mixture of +radar and +bombfind)

Added bombfindmode bind (toggles on/off)

Gave some variables new values to prevent you from getting banned from your own server by inflicting too much damage to teammates or spawnkilling

Fixed some minor things you probably wouldn't notice

Added giantcrosshair alias you can help when you do your smoke grenade tosses & lining up. You could also make this into a press/hold alias with a little more work. I won't be adding that to this config. My recommendation would be to bind this to your Smoke Grenade key (ex: bind c "slot8; giantcrosshair), alias your NORMAL crosshair settings, and bind your NORMAL crosshair settings to your other weapon keys... So, once you're done throwing the grenade, you can get rid of the giantcrosshair by pressing your primary weapon key. That would look something like this (bind mwheelup slot1; normalcrosshair -or- bind mwheeldown slot2; normalcrosshair)

Revamped the crosshair menu (chlist)

Added a feature that only shows net_graph 1 when you check the scoreboard (+ng)

Added new features to quickly change any crosshair to a bright color (chblue, chgreen, chpink)

Added a crosshair by customized by reddit user funpoli (funpoli)

Included important crosshair settings that needed value to the crosshair aliases. Eliminates an issue of not being able to fully revert back to your crosshair if you try someone else's settings you don't like

Added duckhop alias, which jumps+ducks at the same time so you get the max height (+dh)

Added showdamage toggle, which displays how much damage you inflcted in the upper-left of screen (showdamage)

Improved the +ng alias with bpov's idea on how to eliminate the net_graph lag

Viewmodel Feature Info

Feature Info: Aliased Gun Model Settings
Using this feature, you'll have an easy time throwing nades you learn on YouTube and have maximum visibility when you aim your guns... I added 4 new commands.

viewmodelclass

viewmodeldesk

viewmodelmin

viewmodelgren

How it looks in the autoexec.cfg

alias "viewmodelhe" "cl_righthand 1; viewmodel_offset_x -2; viewmodel_offset_y -2; viewmodel_offset_z -1.15; viewmodel_fov 54; cl_bob_lower_amt 5; cl_bobamt_lat 0; cl_bobamt_vert 0; cl_bobcycle 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt 0"
alias "viewmodelgren" "cl_righthand 1; viewmodel_offset_x -2; viewmodel_offset_y -2; viewmodel_offset_z -0.85; viewmodel_fov 54; cl_bob_lower_amt 5; cl_bobamt_lat 0; cl_bobamt_vert 0; cl_bobcycle 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt 0"

alias "viewmodelmin"	"cl_righthand 1; viewmodel_offset_x -2; viewmodel_offset_y -2; viewmodel_offset_z -2; viewmodel_fov 54; cl_bob_lower_amt 30; cl_bobamt_lat 0; cl_bobamt_vert 0; cl_bobcycle 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt 0"

alias "viewmodelclass"	"viewmodel_presetpos 3"

alias "viewmodeldesk"	"viewmodel_presetpos 1"

Let me get the easy ones out of the way... 'viewmodelclass' just changes your weapon viewmodel to classic from the default (the default is desktop). The command for desktop is 'viewmodeldesk' and will set it to how the game originally came... Some of the oldschoolers prefer 'viewmodelclass' and some of the grenade tutorials you'll find use this setting... Either way, please understand both of these commands are VALVE defaults

Personally, I use the viewmodelsetting of desktop ('viewmodeldesk') when I have done my grenade videos.

There is a difference between classic and desktop. If you use your viewmodel hands on your screen to line up to throw a grenade, you will have different results!

Now that that's out of the way... The cool part....

You know how your gun will sometimes block off some of the screen, and will cover up an enemy out to the side? Well, these aliases I've setup & my binds (seen further below) will help address that issue!

viewmodelmin moves your gun to where you can see more of the screen (it minimizes it). Pretty awesome, right?? Problem: It's more difficult to see which 'nade I have in my hand. Also, if you're a nade tosser like I am where you have to line everything up, you can't line up appropriately now.... So I made the next two commands.

viewmodelgren sets the "gun/grenade model" to different settings that allow you to see the grenade you have out and still maintain higher visibility. I made the viewmodel_offset_z a higher value and the cl_bob_lower_amt to be less, so you know you have the correct grenade out. While this is nifty, I wouldn't use this setting with a smoke grenade... Why? Because you can't line everything up anymore. So, I made 'viewmodeldesk' to use with my smoke grenades (and decoys, because I like to throw my decoys like smokes sometimes).

Next.... I rebound my weapon keys to give me the best of all worlds:

When I switch to a gun, my bind enables 'viewmodelmin' giving me the highest visibility

When I switch to a grenade (other than a smoke/decoy), the bind runs the 'viewmodelgren' so I have high visibility and still see what nade I have out

When I switch to a smoke/decoy, the bind runs the 'viewmodeldesk' (the default model) so I can line up my smoke grenades as I've learned them.

Here is what my binds for them look like...

bind mwheelup "slot1; viewmodelmin" //Primary Gun
bind mwheeldown "slot2; viewmodelmin" //Secondary Gun
bind 1 "slot3; viewmodelgren" //Knife
bind 4 "slot7; viewmodelgren" //Flashbang
bind q "slot6; viewmodelgren" //HEGrenade
bind c "slot8; viewmodeldesk" //Smoke
bind mouse4 "slot10; viewmodelgren" //Molotov
bind mouse5 "slot9; viewmodeldesk" //Decoy
bind x "slot11; viewmodelmin" //Zeus
bind 5 "slot5; viewmodelmin" //c4

With these binds, you'll have an easy time throwing nades you learn on YouTube and have maximum visibility to enhance your awareness.

I tried to make this clear in my YouTube video; but, I have a difficult time describing this topic to some folks. I thought this would help!
