Deadhold was not a successor (spiritual or otherwise) to Myth....it had a bit of the look and feel and that's about it. But they had to screw it up by putting in all that other stuff to make it more like a DOTA game.

This is in game engine .file. No one application cann't open them.

Does anyone know of an application that can open myth 2 saved game files or what format they are saved in?

This game was one of my early favorites. Stayed up all hours of the night playing this. I formed a 'co-op' only guild with my friends named <deer>. Those were good times.

no it has not been released as shareware yet but there is a demo version of the game available as well as updated patches at projectmagma.net . google searches help with all myth related things, you can find countless old websites on archive.org

Does anyone have an updated link to download the Myth II client as well as all requiredpatches / utilities to start playing online ?

Just spent a half hour racking my brain trying to remember the name of this great series. I finally found it by googling, "old school bloody strategy game with tons of sprites." Hahaha.

Perhaps if we can get a group of streamers we could bring some belated attention to myth

Team Registration is open! If you plan on just playing then you can join a team until DE1 matches are completed (which will be sometime around the end of June I'd guess).

Apologies for the initial announcement stating that registration would begin in May, after some discussion we decided it was more beneficial to have a longer registration period.

MWC registration will begin in the next few weeks guys so keep your eyes peeled for more info!

:) Yes Ive had this open for nearly 6-7 years trying to get steam people onto myth bandwagon, a bit of luck here and there, but most for some reason cant be bothered downloading a 800mb sized game, less than what most modern dlc file sizes are today.

Would be great to see fans using the tag ~MII~ in their name especially if they play the game so others know :)

Bungie helped negotiate for certain members of the Myth community to gain access to the IP before it was sold off back in 2000 when Microsoft bought Bungie. Those members kept Myth alive and provided substantial updates.

I'd love to see Myth TFL and Myth II on Steam but something tells me that will never happen. If you want to play, visit those websites, download the demo and you can play online matches for free.

Myth II is an epic RTT not an RTS. The Myth series is all about battlefield tactics--there's no resourcing or building.

Just to let you all know. I am no longer supporting RTW2 in my group with content, feel free to stay to establish multiplayer games or leave but I have tried to contact the admins to help me out establishing a proper multiplay RTW2 community with little or no response in productivity. That said I have observed most of you playing and a lot of you have moved on to other games like Xcom, Dota for example so I think in the end its the best for this groups progress. Plese check out Myth II as well, its a great small sized RTS that will really challenge you agaist a smart AI (unlike RTWII) and the multiplayer community is still thriving. Just follow the steps from the forum above.
