It allows allows you to have a chit chat. You can link your steam account to the site OR IF you prefer NOT TO you dont have to. People dont like this idea. Its safe as its done via openid&gt;steam and on SSL But again , You DO NOT have to do this step if you dont want too. - The ID is store normaly to display a badge under your avatar with links to your steam profiles from the website.
