GGCEVO Invite ODC Summary

Well after a massive day of CS on sunday misery have a lot of things to smile about with decent results throughout our ODC campaign things are on the up. We were placed in Group B with the likes of Archaic, ep0c and nyotic (Varient).

The morning started off with us playing ep0c on de_dust2, we had a very shakey start and trailed 7-2. The half finished misery 7 - 8 ep0c and then the second half started. We came out guns blazing and finished the match 16-9. Second up was Archaic and it ended up being a slaughterfest with us losing 16-2. With that happening we needed to beat nyotic on de_tuscan to make it out of group so we kept our chin up and pulled everything together.

Once again we had a shakey start to the game and rounds were coming and going. Tegs absolutely lifted and crushed nyotic and our half finished 10-5 in our favour. Second half continued as the first half did and we took the match 16-5. We were all stoked about the achievement as we were predicted to finish last in our group.

With RO16 around the corner we found out that we were playing fray on de_train a map we are very under-pracced on. CHRiSOAOW from fray told us they were also under-pracced on the map and it could be close. With that in mind we had nothing to lose we had a good day already and everything else would be a bonus. The match begun and we started off as T's. We lost the pistol but to our surprise we managed to win the second round and have a 4-1 lead our heads were high but thats were the half ended. At half time the score was misery 4-11 fray.

We knew we had a tall order to come back and after losing the first two rounds of the second half things didnt look great. Tegs came through again making us take a risk of a DEAGLE/ARMOR call which we managed to pull off from there was the come back train and we found ourselves looking at a possible OT with the score 15-14 to fray, but it wasn't to be. omNi's vent crashed 3 rounds prior to the final round and made communication with him difficult and when we was fragged in mid on the last round our outside hold felt apart. Final score was misery 14-16 fray, it was a very intense enjoyable game going round for round.

All in all the boys did great and we hope that we can continue and grow to make this team keep taking the right steps forward and hopefully obtain a CEVO-M invite season.

After defeating "Ruff Ryderz" on thursday evening with a score line of 2 - 0 misery advance to the semi finals to face off against "perfectlySTRANGE".

Both teams have had a solid season in CyberGamer and both share disappointing results in CEVO. With this potentially being the last competitive match for either team this season its sure to be a BLOCKBUSTER!!!
