We are in group 111. As you can see we are in a 3-team group, as opposed to 4. So this means we'll only have two matches to play, and need to come in first within our group to be able to progress to the next phase.

And just to make sure everyone is prepared, I'd appreciated it if everyone could take the time to at least briefly read through the two rules pages:

Lastly, as everyone will need to record their own demos, make sure you have P-Rec installed, as it'll save you the hassle of having to start and stop tourney demos by doing it all for you.

Thanks to everybody who turned up and took part in tonights match, I had a blast and I hope everyone else did too.

I will be putting up an event for our first tournament match soon, to which I'll be taking a line-up based roughly on a first come first serve basis. After that, I'll try to arrange future line-ups based on the number of games people have played, so that everyone should get an even number of plays throughout the tournament.

Just so we're clear, our first week's maps will be cp_gravelpit and pl_upward. If you have the time, try to get to know the maps as well as possible. Also note, everyone will need to record their own demos. Make sure you know how to take them, and that your PC won't completely fall over when you start doing so (shouldn't be a problem though)

We still have 4 spots left on the team, so if you know anyone who is a competant team player and enjoys TF2 as much as the rest of us, see if they'd be interested in the tourney before sending them my way.

I will sort out a fair way for everyone to pick the classes they want very soon, in the meantime though the team needs volunteers for a deputy and war arranger positions. The deputy's role will be to help me out with organizing and leading the team, as well as taking over when I'm not around. The war arranger's role will simply be to liaison with other teams to sort out matches, as well as keeping everybody on the team updated with whats going on.

If you're interested in taking on either position, come talk to me. Sure it'll be a tiny bit of extra work, but it'll make life easier for me and ensures the team won't miss out on anything.

With that out of the way, now would be a good time to think about which primary and secondary classes you want to be playing as, and perhaps to start practicing a little bit.
