A new L4D1 league, sign up your team, let's revive community! http://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/groups/l4d_global_update

@Evil_Pidget, we are trying to get a sponsor so people get more interested. How came L4D2 needs sponsors and L4D doesn't. That was a pretty bad point there imo. The games don't actually NEED sponsors, the ones you meantion (i.e. CS, Dota2). They have simply more players than L4D atm. That's why it's being hard to get a good sponsor, however it's not impossible. But your all point, I can't agree with you. Not because I'm an admin, but because we're trying to make this community active - or try at least. The league will start soon. And also, I've been thinking about 2v2's, new cfg's, costum maps cups, which I will announce when it's time. Anyways, thanks for your opinion.

Regards,

- Laricko

I hope that covers everything, nobody is expecting to go to a company with an open sack expecting to throw gold in it, and it's far from the strategy we're taking. We hope to get things moving soon and that the majority of the 24 teams that initially signed up will be interested in continuing, new teams will still be welcomed to replace any that decide against it.

Cheers,

Flanders

The league will go ahead, I'm hoping within 1-2 weeks as mentioned a few days ago. Everything is in place for the league to start except confirmation from some teams who I feel will likely play - and there is no point us creatign a fixture list and then having to re-do as more teasm feels suddenly they now want to play.

Any talk of sponsors is for season 2 as far as I'm concerned and we have a long list of potential suitors but wsick and myself have decided this will run on longer than we want to wait to start this league - it certainly isn't something that can be achieved over night or indeed within a week, possibly even a month. I very much doubt companies will part with thei money on a whim and thus the process will unlikely be that straightforward.

The hold up on the League is nothing to do with sponsors, not from my end at least - It's purely time to organise the initial setting up of the league fixtures. I work around 50-60 hours a week so organising a l4d league is not at the top of my agenda every evening when I get in, so things have stalled a little - the same goes for wsick. once the intial organisation is done the league will pretty much run itself with the obvious involvement of ourselves merely to keep it on course. What would prefer is that teams would confirm that they are still going to participate. A number of teams have done this, others haven't and we are having to chase them up. I don't think a standard "register here" can possibly work correectly or would speed things up. You can see the apathy as soon as there isn't a contstant string of announcements.

l4d2 not dead yet. Look at the statistics before you write rubbish. 6,000 people simultaneously play l4d2. l4d2 in 10th place ranking Steam

evil you are clever guy, you have good idea, i will commend you in dota 2
cc.Miron4ik 27 Apr, 2013 @ 6:18am
Admins, I hope you understand what I'm saying. I'm talking about that for now l4d not need a sponsor. Sponsoring need cs, Dota 2, CoD, l4d2 at least. And for l4d now sponsoring completely unnecessary. For l4d now need players and teams. A cash prize you just empty out your pockets. Players must not be sponsored. Or should then bet every team. But then the players will not play. I draw your attention once again, give publicity in the group l4d2 and lure players GOOD League system, give the sites where you can buy at a cheap price with l4d account, entice players into the first part, or simply close the group and walk away from the game, no one keeps you here for a long time.

l4d как старая пятерка, которая ♥♥♥ уже когда поедет, но ее все еще пытаются починить
cc.Miron4ik 27 Apr, 2013 @ 6:00am
And more. If you look at the statistics, during the opening of the league in l4d1 average online incentive was 300-400 players. Now the average of 50-100. When idle, in l4d stop playing normal players and Cups all will just forget.
cc.Miron4ik 27 Apr, 2013 @ 5:53am
Why do you think, if there will not be prizes for the games, no one will be playing? I think that after the start of the League, everyone understood that material prizes are not important for the teams. Just players need competition, the desire to win and the record of victories in the profiles. Bring the idea to the end, do not try to do everything at once. Advertise, attract people from the second part. And I guarantee you if they see that really is something global, players will come, and there will be many. Come Streamers. And after sponsors themselves come to invest. And the fact that the players themselves are investing in the League to attract other players - it's a kindergarten.
cc.Miron4ik 27 Apr, 2013 @ 5:43am
Hmm... I'm sorry, but why do you need a sponsor? And what? In what will be its sponsorship of the League? Why not just make an announcement in the group to open the registration of teams, check out those who remained. And an ad in groups l4d2. To the second part of the teams also came to play l4d1. I do not think that there really is someone to sponsor l4d1. And the longer you'll look for a sponsor, the more players will leave the l4d1. Now we have to attract players of both parts to play fast matches in the league. In this case, the idea of splitting into divisions relevant to preserve competition. And on the basis of one season to just give 1, 2, 3 places in each division, and shift up the teams, and those who lost - down. Only then we can think about the sponsors.

Sorry for deleting all the comments, first of all. I just don't like to see hatred comments around here. Then, I'm really sorry for not been updating the league group, (i.e. starting the league) but we admins, I can talk for anyone of us, we've been busy lately, but this doesn't mean the league is over. Remember we need also a sponsor, which is a very hard thing to find on such a game as L4D. Supposely we're just trying to get you a REAL prize and not tricking you like the last cups.

The best regards,
- Laricko and the rest of L4L Admins

The league is not dead, we're currently confirming with teams that they will be playing and then making the fixtures for season 1. The League should start in 1-2 weeks all being well. Understand that admins don't always have a lot of time on their hands (due to work/other commitments) and when this is the case it's difficult for us to keep everything running perfectly - This doesn't mean the league is dead. Mdfst you've been banging on about this for nearly 2 months now and nobody is listening because your claim is based on nothing (as we've already discussed privately). I hope you can swallow your pride and just enter a team and play for fun like it seems a lot of other teams are hoping to do. If everyone can bear with us for a while, things will start to be announced soon and the league will be starting.

Thanks,

flanders
