i cant make a server with 510 thing on anymore??

you dont even need the program, just go the the two text files(steam_appid.txt, steam.inf) and change the Appid from 550 to 510, easy as pie.

i got an error trying to start up the switch, though i'm not sure whether it's full version compatible thought it was worth a try: here is the rror code error 0xc000135

i see, well i'm awaiting activation of a steam forums thingo so i can go to the thread in "Censor Switch is NOW OUT!", because i thought the download on the front of the page was for the demo, maybe i am activated and Valve is just saying "♥♥♥♥ YOU" to the people who don't want to play left 4 dead 2-preschool version

Okay, for the dills like me, Make sure you have the L4D2 Dedicated Server installed in the Tools tab on steam. Then you're all set. BTW it's looking for the left4dead2 folder, the one without the spaces in the name and 1 level deep in the left 4 dead 2 folder.

The app does work for the real game, of course you could just change the appid id manually to 510 anyway though.

Okay, maybe I'm a spaz.. I cant get this to work when pointing to full version of the game, when I point it to the Demo folder, it enables the Disable Censor switch, but then the game fails wanting to be run via steam.

Is this method working for the full version of the game and Im doing it wrong? or do we have to wait a while.?

You just extract both files into the same location/folder and it will run fine :)

hi Guys, the censor switch wont find the folder??? what is the correct folder i put in :steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2, i dont seem to have an extra folder just names l4d2 ???, thanks in advance, also where do i put the .dll file? i think would be good to have install notes added to switch

it means the folder l4d2 is installed to probs be something like c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2

join the 3fl steam group, then itll show servers under steam group servers as 3fl hosts 510 servers.

should i download this before or after installation?

Ya, i had the same problem. Gore works fine, and i can play with other players who have the censor disabled (510 trick), but no servers (have to host) and no censored players... severely limiting online capabilities

hmm, cause after the update it changed some of the files back to 550, so re-enabing the patch, puts it back to 510. So far it has worked for me, can play single and multi with full gore.

I got it to work by disabling the cencor patch then reenabling it, works fine now

Thankyou FunkyMunky and Lord Banshie. This program only changes the app-ids but makes it far easier to switch between both versions. No other methods of gore-enabling are "legal" and would result in a VAC ban which I do not want to risk (for myself or any of you guys).

This is awesome! I was playing the demo a bit before this, and I wasn't even thinking of buying the full version of L4D2 because of the censor, but now, when you release a version of this for the full version, I will buy it and use your program.
