don't make me laugh
Why is the non-free version bad again, other than being non-free?
Time to re-open the servers?
Now they just need to fix the netcode and update everything for zombies.
Anyone reading this: I STRONGLY advise against buying the game... for the time being. The game has changed alot, and has been reworked into something that looks like KAG, but doesn't feel like it anymore. They said they wanted to reshape the game back to what Classic was, but it doesn't seem to be a priority. That, and who the ♥♥♥♥ buys a game on release? Just wait for the eventual Steam sale when they'll probably drop the game's price to even lower than what they had it in alpha, and buy it then.
The game isn't worth it right now. Despite the website's claim of having over 10k people with Premium accounts, only a fraction of those play, and most of them spend their time playing Classic instead of Beta, and the only 2 servers people play on are either in Germany, or in America under abusive administration.
What's worse is that Rayne has been handing out admin priviliges to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everyone. I haven't kept count, but there are at least 12-15 people with admin as far as I've been able to count. And most of these people just abuse their powers by making people do whatever the hell they want with ban threats, or freeze people for fun. Nothing but admin abuse.
Go and check out the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server thread on the forums. Some guy was complaining how the server owner and some admin decided to have "admin wars" when the server was full, and started griefing the living ♥♥♥♥ out of the map with the editor.
Next update looks like it could be a game changer.
Also, last nights Zombie Castle Tunnel ♥♥♥♥ was a ton of a fun. Got a screen of our Hobbit Fort before everyone died; http://i.imgur.com/n2meT.png RIP IN PEACE
CTF, I'm on red with 37 lives blue has 2 lives. There's a massive hill in the middle of the map that's our ONLY DEFENSE, no wall no pit nothing. So our builder, instead of helping us attack, building a bombshop, or even doing nothing, digs a tunnel straight under the hill without telling anyone. He neglects to put even a SINGLE wall or door in this tunnel. While me and a few other knights are killing the last blues ontop of the hill, a single blue knight waltzes through the tunnel, kills the builder, grabs our flag, tapdances back through the tunnel and caps the flag.
Might be able to get some kag threads runnning a week or so though.
Water is less an obstacle and more a deathtrap. More deadly that any spikepit, more obstructing than any wall.
If both sides remain close to the ground there's no real problem, people just bombjump or catapult over, but water + tower = unsurpassable obstacle that ALWAYS leads to either a tie in a time based game or a win by attrition.
Other than the water, the update it great. Wood blocks allow for faster constructcioin at the front and lets knights feel they're good for something, REQUIRED SUPPORT IS FINALLY IN! This mean no more skybridges!
I think it looks different too, hard to say.
2)Change catapults so you have to press e to fire. Currently if you're trying to attack while near a catapult you fire the catapult instead. Very inconvinient
3)FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP BREAKING THE GAME EVERY UPDATE!
I mean HOW could ANYONE miss the glitch that causes MASSIVE lag and infinite money?
4)don't make the charge wheel wind back down after it gets all the way, just reset it to 0. Currently it's faster to attack twice rather than wait.
5)Make a carried heart get auto-used by the person carrying it the same way it gets auto used on teammates
that's all I can think of in 30 seconds
Also there will be an update tomorrow that should fix a lot of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if you guys have any good ideas for fixes and want to toss them my way I talk to the devs now and then and can probably pass them through if they're good, especially when it comes to balance.
Don't get me wrong, the game is awesome and all that, but development is WAY too slow. What's worse is having to pay to watch it slowly ooze from the dev's minds.
If you have resources to spare, feel free to open a server and I'll post it in the group's description, and maybe even advertise on /v/. I might even look seriously into hacking in premium content for F2P. But I dunno how responsive everyone will be. If not, it's cool.
NOPE NOPE NOPE!
No more playing for me...
- Since the game is not on Steam, people won't buy the game, no matter how cheap it is
- Can't do ♥♥♥♥ without our own servers
- F2P is extremely limited compared to Premium and gets boring quick
- Can't do ♥♥♥♥ without our own servers
If only the devs released a rapid volley of weekly updates, showing an increasing number of features and cool new things to try out, people from /v/ might show interest.
But development so far has been very, VERY slow. Most updates consist of minor bugfixes, which ironically also create more bugs. And they have never met their self-imposed deadline when talking about adding new content because LOL PERFECTIONISM. What's worse is that even though they push out an update several months later than their initial deadline, the content is still heavily bugged anyways, which really begs the question of what the ♥♥♥♥ were they doing all this time.
If you can convince /v/ to buy despite all of this, it'd be awesome.
Well, apparently...

However, not all hope is lost. They recently made an anouncement that they're slowly implementing a powerful scripting system, which will allow people to make whatever custom content and any mod they want. Eventually, magic wielders will be a possibility... so long as there's someone out there to code it.
You can read all about it here: http://devlog.kag2d.com/post/21133919546/developments-of-the-last-week
