Other than CKII (with Sons of Abraham expansion of course) and The Shiva are there any other games we can reccomend?

I've played some multiplayer CKII, and I really recommend that some kind of voice chat is used so people can get some kind of warning that you wish to pause / unpause etc.

Oh man, a Civ 5 game would be super fun, but also take for ever. I only have the base game through steam too. Lot less fun than the expanded version

That certainly sounds like a great idea. One game that I think would be great (but would probably last forever if we had to wait for everyone) is Civ5.

I don't have CK2, but I'll pick it up during the next sale.

So, who wants to compare and contrast libraries and see what we can do together?

I'm hoping the paradox grand strategy games are popular; I'd love to try a CK2 multiplayer where we all play as Jewish characters, trying to create the Kingdom of Israel.

Might need to mod it a bit to make it more fun, though.
